What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: working my ass (hmm, starting right after this post) of during my last workday before my vacation, so I can relax and "nourish baby" for two weeks starting tomorrow
Rant/rave/symptoms: Had my first u/s yesterday. There was only a yolk sac to be seen of course, but we saw the right things in the right place. Going back in three weeks when we'll hopefully see a heartbeat. I love Belgium with all it's redundant appointments!

What's new with baby (size, development): Still a poppy seed
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: We are finally going to get serious about getting our house ready to put on the market. Also told the in laws last night that we were pregnant. I really hope they can keep the secret!

What's new with baby (size, development): so exciting. We are officially an apple seed. Which I may have to eat an apple today
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: lots of research. Maybe too much. I'm picking up extra shifts at my 2nd job since the money is good right now. Trying to get a good savings before the baby comes
Rant/rave/symptoms: rave: I finally slept like a million bucks last night! Felt so nice after not being able too all week. Rant. DH's mom just told me his family is coming into town for a beach day Sunday. We are telling my MIL Friday but I just really don't want everyone knowing until we hear the heart beat in 12 days! Not sure what we are going to do since his mom will probably be bursting with joy to tell everyone (first grand baby)
Questions for the Group: none
GTKY: Honeymoon: we just went a 5 day cruise to the Bahamas. The port was so close to our house & family dropped us off & picked us up. It rained everyday but one. We still had a blast & met a lot of awesome people!
What's new with baby (size, development): Sweet Pea-sized
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Just counting down the days until our first u/s on Monday and telling my parents the next day!
Rant/rave/symptoms: I started spotting a little bit yesterday afternoon. It was brown CM. I know this is normal and it was in small amounts, but it's still hanging around and it freaks me out regardless. I'm waiting it out to see what happens but I am anxious for it to go away. I had another stressful, vivid dream last night. It was about suffering a loss. Terrifying, yet not surprising that was the subject matter given my concerns started last night. This morning there was a spot of pink on the pantiliner I slept in. Just one spot. Doesn't seem to have returned in the past hour and a half. Crossing my fingers and thinking positive thoughts!
Questions for the Group:
GTKY: your honeymoon destination, or most romantic trip if you didn't have ome: We honeymooned in the BVI (Tortola, specifically). It was incredible and we had hoped to return for our one-year anniversary but decided to get KU instead.
What's new with baby (size, development): still a sweet pea
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: nothing right now
Rant/rave/symptoms: One week until our u/s. Until then I have to get over this nasty head cold.
Questions for the Group: none
GTKY: your honeymoon destination, or most romantic trip if you didn't have one - Clearwater, Florida. We took a two week honeymoon and did a ton but my favorite activity by far was swimming with dolphins.
What's new with baby's size: starting to develop all those major organs!
Something new you are doing to get ready for baby: checking out some resale shops for bassinets/cribs bc DD will still be in a crib when LO is born.
Rant/Rave/Symptom: Starting having some indigestion a few nights ago after a Mexican food binge... So worth it!
Question for the group: anyone experiencing vertigo? Twice now when I've gotten up in the middle of the night I've gotten super dizzy. Once I actually fell over in our bathroom and crack the lid on our toilet seat. Suggestions? Also, are we supposed to answer all the daily check-ins or only on the day we reach a new week?
GTKY honeymoon/romantic vacation: we went to Jamaica on our honeymoon! It was beautiful and relaxing, however we decided afterwards that we would never to do all-inclusive again. Not a fan of the limited food options and activities.
Question for the group: anyone experiencing vertigo? Twice now when I've gotten up in the middle of the night I've gotten super dizzy. Once I actually fell over in our bathroom and crack the lid on our toilet seat.
Sounds like your blood pressure is low. Which is harmless, or actually a good thing, but so annoying. Get up very slowly: first sit up straight, wait a few moments and then get out of bed. Eat snack throughout the day - don't be scared of some salt and sugar. Drink enough. And definitely eat something before you take a shower!
Rant/rave/symptom: no symptoms other than sore breasts yet! If I recall correctly, the nausea kicked in about 8 weeks last time.... So nervous. We have an ultrasound on Monday and will hopefully hear a heart beat.
Questions: none!
Gtky: we went to Napa before we got married bc we didn't have time for honeymoon. It was a great trip.
Question for the group: anyone experiencing vertigo? Twice now when I've gotten up in the middle of the night I've gotten super dizzy. Once I actually fell over in our bathroom and crack the lid on our toilet seat.
This Happened to me in my last pregnancy. Just grabbed something to eat when I woke up or leave a glass of juice on your nightstand to get your blood sugar going.
Week: My due date is confusing since I got pregnant right after a chemical pregnancy. Based on when the bleeding started with the CM I am 5w6d but based on when I am pretty sure I O'd I'm 5w1d so I'm going with that from now on. What's new with baby (size, development): Appleseed What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Scheduled my first ultrasound for July 28 and we decided we'll tell close family after that. Also been on Amazon researching what I'll need for baby#2. Rant/rave/symptoms: Light cramping but I am pretty much always crampy. Apparently I feel everything going on in my uterus. Also hungry a lot. Other than that feel pretty good. Questions for the Group: None GTKY: your honeymoon destination, or most romantic trip if you didn't have one: St. Lucia for our honeymoon. It was such a great time, I wish we could go back! (off to plan our long weekend vacay for the year)
What's
new with baby (size, development): Sweet pea
What's
something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Just eating
Rant/rave/symptoms:
Same ol', same ol' - pretty much 24/7 nausea. If there wasn't such an amazing prize in the end, I'd say pregnancy is for the birds.
Questions for the Group:
GTKY:
your honeymoon destination, or most romantic trip if you didn't have
one - East Sooke, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. We rented a cottage right on the bay and it was probably one of the most beautiful spots I've ever seen in the world, especially at sunrise, sunset. We got to go crabbing off of the attached dock (or rather star fishing ), go to Buchart Gardens, and just relax and enjoy each other.

Question for the group: anyone experiencing vertigo? Twice now when I've gotten up in the middle of the night I've gotten super dizzy. Once I actually fell over in our bathroom and crack the lid on our toilet seat. Suggestions?
It's because when you've been laying down for a long time, you need to be careful when you get up because of bloodflow. So here's your homework - in the middle of the night when you have to get up, make sure you sit up first - don't just bolt out of bed (pregnancy is all about learning how to take things slow). Give the blood time to get circulating again. Sit for a few seconds and then get up. If you find it's a blood sugar thing - either sip orange juice or eat some crackers.

@Rabbitheart15@finchbird1@skruhmin Thanks for the suggestions! I'll try getting up slower and having a snack or some juice on the nightstand. I've always had low blood pressure, it not to the point where I fall over from it, so I hope this isn't a symptom that sticks around!
Still not sure how far along we are, but my best guess is between 6-6.5 weeks. I haven't started any trackers yet, for this reason.
Gtky: DH left for Air Force basic training about a month after we got married in 2010, so we didn't have a formal honeymoon. However, our first assignment was in Italy for 3 years, so we did plenty of traveling to make up for it!

And if you do have that be especially careful right after you've had sex/O'd. Not that I'd know from personal experience during pregnancy or anything

Hello! I am so happy and exited to finally be able to join you all here.
Week: 4w2d
What's new with baby (size, development): The brain, spine and circulatory systems are starting to form. Taken from my little ticker. It is still a very tiny baby lol
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Right now we are still in the process of believing this, we told a few people, those who followed us trough the IVF journey and we are thinking of who else to tell and how, we have not told my father about any of it yet so I am trying to think up a cute announcement for him.
Rant/rave/symptoms: Most symptoms I have I am sure are cause by my progesterone supplements right now, like sore boobs, fatigue, I am really picky on food now... Nothing bad at all so far, but it is still very early. But hey, I won't complain! Bring on the symptoms!!
Questions for the Group: Any cute announcement ideas??
GTKY: We didn't have a honeymoon and we never even went on a trip together. We needed to get a house, and we did. And we needed to pay for a bay, and now we have one, it was worth every cent. Since thankfully it only took one round of IVF we are more relaxed now and we want to go to Italy sometime during the next year (if we get the okay to travel by plane while I am preganant). My sister will be in Venice for one year to study so we want to visit her. Plus since my husband is Italian and has never been to Italy it is the perfect excuse.
35 years old, TTC #1 Dec 28, 2011 PCOS, Hypothyroidism.
First IVF cycle June 5th 2015 --- BFP Miscarriage at 8 weeks
FET December 15th 2015--- BFP! First saw at 6w4d It's a boy!
Luciano Alessandro Maximiliano was born on September 3rd 2016
What's new with baby (size, development): developing spinal cord...
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: going to contact insurance company today and see what is covered/deductible amount.
Rant/rave/symptoms: when I was making breakfast this morning, I thought about not putting cheddar into my scrambled eggs but immediately thought I HAD to have them!
Questions for the Group:
GTKY: we spent our honey moon in Montana. We have friends that live there, we got to raft on the Yellowstone river everyday And do some fun sightseeing.
Week: my pee stick just dried and I'm about to start week 4.
What's new with baby: baby implanted into uterine wall and enough pregnancy hormone has been produced for me to have my positive test result.
Rant/rave/symptom: been tired, but that could just be from chasing a toddler around. Still be optimistically cautious, since I had a cp before my son.
GTKY: we had our honeymoon in St. Lucia. Loved it!
BFP #1 - 12/30/12 - EDD 9/13/13 - CP
BFP #2 - 2/13/13 - EDD 10/24/13 - born 10/29/13 - Kian Edward
BFP #3 - 7/16/15 - EDD 3/27/16 - born 3/23/16 - Liam James
What's new with baby (size, development): Size of appleseed.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I want to start working on the room that will eventually be the nursery, because right now it is literally a big junk pile.
Rant/rave/symptoms: None. I would say sweet cravings, but I think I've always had that. :P
GTKY: Our honeymoon was in the Riviera Maya area in Mexico.
What's new with baby (size, development): The baby is the size of a waterbear this week...which is a tiny super creature that can survive extreme environments (also a poppy seed, but I like waterbear better)
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Today my DH went out and bought a cute little chalkboard for progression pictures. I was really excited, because we're expats and it can sometimes be hard to locate little things like that.
Rant/rave/symptoms: I have this weird sense of calm...I notice annoying stuff happening, but it just doesn't seem to be bothering me. Very strange, because I'm not generally the queen of equanimity.
Questions for the Group: How are you guys not telling people??? It's all I think about. Yesterday, someone at work asked me, "So, is anything really important and significant going on in your personal life?" I was like -- are you kidding me??
What's new with baby (size, development): a little sweet pea.
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I'm eating better, but nothing more yet. Still need to get my first u/s to put my crazy mind at ease.
Rant/rave/symptoms: I'm breaking out badly. I've been having this weird pressure/pain on my right side, similar to when I get my period but it's worrying me.
Questions for the Group: Anyone else working over nights?
GTKY: honeymoon - we went to Costa Rica in December. HIGHLY recommended!
What's new with baby (size, development): sweet pea
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: asking my sister what she will be done with for baby gear when I'm ready. Looking at things I can buy between now and then to spread out expenses. Just checked on local daycare price and dropped off my right arm there as a deposit.
Rant/rave/symptoms: tired. Just started night shift and work is starting to get uncomfortable. Going on limited duty starting the 26th. I'm a state trooper so all of my gear is just too tight and heavy!
Questions for the Group: not a question I just wish everyone could play nice.
GTKY: Whistler BC for honeymoon. Ski and snowboard in the most beautiful setting and town about 6 hours north. The PNW is seriously the best place to live.
What's new with baby (size, development): Still there! Fingers crossed!
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: trying to stay positive as my ultrasound comes closer...
Rant/rave/symptoms: Omg, I was hit with a sinus infection and stomach bug. Oh, and all I could take was Tylenol, which doesn't do much. My doctor gave me Zofran for the vomiting, which helped a bit. This poor bean has been through a lot! I hope it's ok!!! Questions for the Group:
GTKY: We honeymooned at a boat house on a lake. It was a rental though and we had to clean everything ourselves and make our own food, which I do not consider to be vacation! lol.
What's new with the baby (size, development): poppy seed
What's something you're doing to get ready for the baby: Clearing out our spare bedroom that became our "room of requirements". I clear out things in spurts.
Rant/raves/symptoms: I look completely normal with a nice tummy in the morning-freaks me out that by the afternoon I'm so bloated. Makes for an interesting choice of wardrobe.
GTKY: We love history-we thought of Italy but the hotel rates were ridiculious for the time of year (Nov) so we settled for Boston and fell in love with the city. We had SO much fun and talk about moving there when we retire-we're in Texas and retirement is forever from now!! Italy is now a 10 year anniversary trip.
What's new with the baby (size, development): sweet pea
What's something you're doing to get ready for the baby: Giving away clothes that I'll never fit in again (should've given up hope a long time ago but now I have a good excuse!)
Rant/raves/symptoms: major bloating, upset stomach today. Nervous about keeping this a secret once I go back to work and school starts in Aug.
GTKY: We stayed at the Zoetry resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It was so wonderful and relaxing that I'm hoping to go back for our 5th anniversary (just celebrated our 3rd).
What's new with baby (size, development): Sweet pea
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: telling our grandparents this weekend.
Rant/rave/symptoms: Heartburn. Omg the heartburn...
Questions for the Group:

What's new with baby (size, development): Arms legs looking more and more like a baby
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: working up the courage to tell dh's parents and brother tomorrow.
Rant/rave/symptoms: Nausea for most of the day (until about 3pm). I am also exhausted most of the time.
Questions for the Group:
GTKY: No honeymoon (yet). We are waiting to pay off our student loans (3 more years!). Then we plan to use our extra funds to take the honeymoon of all honeymoons. Probably someplace tropical with lazy rivers, swim up bars, and snorkeling.
What's new with baby (size, development): Poppyseed
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: Working on the spare rooms we have (mudding and painting). Not only are we expecting, but my sil and her dog are moving in with us.
Rant/rave/symptoms: Full/achy feeling...like period cramps, slight touch of just ug/borderline nausea at night.
Questions for the Group: None yet.
GTKY: We actually were married and honeymooned in Greece. It was a dream come true.
What's new with baby (size, development): I just found out yesterday - so I'm super excited but baby's the size of a poppyseed so I the very existence is the new part I think
What's something new you are doing to get ready for baby: I just told DH yesterday - I got him the American Academy of Pediatrics Book "Dad to Dad: Parenting Like a Pro" and wrapped it up with a note that said "you're going to be a great Dad, starting March 2016!" and he was totally surprised - didn't realize I could have gotten a bfp already
Rant/rave/symptoms: People at work know I'm trying and they ask me if I'm pregnant yet and of course I'm not ready to tell people so I just say "we're trying" but do any of you have a better answer for that?
Questions for the Group: Just the above - how do you answer people when you're not ready to tell them but they know you're trying and they ask?
GTKY: Honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico. It was impossibly luxurious.
What's new with baby (size, development): sweet pea

Rant/rave/symptoms: still just tired. I've only had a few bouts of mild nausea so far and am wondering if I'm going to get full fledged ms. My mom had it bad with me and my sister and I read somewhere that it might be genetic?
Questions for the Group: none
GTKY: our honeymoon was in Rarotonga, Cook Islands and it was the most amazing trip. I highly recommend a visit!
Re: Thursday daily thread

No honeymoon (yet). We are waiting to pay off our student loans (3 more years!). Then we plan to use our extra funds to take the honeymoon of all honeymoons. Probably someplace tropical with lazy rivers, swim up bars, and snorkeling.

Rant/rave/symptoms: still just tired. I've only had a few bouts of mild nausea so far and am wondering if I'm going to get full fledged ms. My mom had it bad with me and my sister and I read somewhere that it might be genetic?

GTKY: our honeymoon was in Rarotonga, Cook Islands and it was the most amazing trip. I highly recommend a visit!
