How accurate was your due date?

Hello!
I'm lurking from August 2015, but I have a question for you ladies. I heard an old wives tale that girls are more likely to arrive on or before her due date, while boys are more likely to be late. This just made me a little curious and I wondered how accurate/inaccurate this was for you ladies.

Thanks!

  • Hi there, if you look on our second page, you will see a poll where people voted as to what week they delivered. It does not poll on the sex though.

Bottom line is that about half of us were early and half were late. The old wives tale looks to be just that...
  • Loading the player...
  • My pediatrician was shocked I delivered on my due date. He says that rarely happens. I had a little girl.
  • Ftm delivered my girl literally 5 minutes before my due date...11:55pm. So mine was extremely accurate. I was in labor for about 14 hours.

Many of us here were induced or had scheduled c-sections as well.
  • I had a csection on my due date after twenty hours of active labor with my little guy. He would have never come out on his own, despite every circumstance seeming perfect.

There's really no way to know.

I didn't vote because the answer doesn't really match the question. I had my son three weeks early but, according to my Dr and the hospital pediatrician my due date was off by two weeks (knew it). So he was only one week early or 39 weeks.

    ETA....I'm sleepy.
  • I had a little boy and delivered three weeks early.
