If there is ever a bandwagon to hop on, it's the Taking Charge of Your Fertility one.
My mind is blown and I'm only on page 92. I'm reading it in bed, keep having "ah-hah" moments out loud (my husband does not get it), and taking side notes in the book like I'll be taking a test on it.
The app seems great to track everything, but I honestly haven't read into their tutorials. I wish I could give a comparison!!
The book really breaks everything down; the play by play of each cycle day is really interesting. It talks about what your body is doing chemically, why your temps fluctuate, every type of CM description, your peak day, which day you are safe and not fertile after you peak (if you are preventing)..everything under the sun. I'm about a third done and just had to force myself to put the book down-fatigue will make me have to read everything over again.
I'm already confident and I haven't even done much.
I'm going to read it. It's been recommended to me by several people. We've been seriously considering doing NFP. I don't react well to hormonal BC and have been using a diaphragm (old school) for 7 years. I figure if we transition to NFP we'll be a step ahead come TTC time.
I read a lot of it several years ago. It did help my understanding quite a bit but I think it made me too focused and obsessed. It did help me self diagnose a short lutel phase. I saw a hormonal specialist who helped me stabilize my system. Which ultimately was successful.
I also preordered the kindle version of the new version. I have read get ready get pregnant and it was good but made you convinced that everything around you if terrible. My thoughts were I couldn't live in a bubble lol
I'm hoping to go into charting just learning more about my body, but the bonus is definitely the opportunity to have a slightly better knowledge of TTC. Plus this is easing the baby fever, because at least I am doing something! Names are already picked, hah!
We already have a Jack William; so that little guy will either have a brother named Beau Wesley (my dad's middle name) or a sister Lauren Feliz (my middle name).
@HookEmNelson Every day I wake up and chart I feel so excited with empowerment. It's so cool! I can't wait to read TCOYF because I've been charting but I don't really understand most of it. My chart is starting to balance out though after my Mirena removal and that is so cool to witness. I love data!!!
I ordered a few books from Amazon...one was TCOYF. Excited to get in to it and start charting in the new year. Not TTC until the spring, but I'm still interested for sure, I figure it can't hurt to know your body a little bit better BEFORE you're worried about getting pregnant!
I should receive my copy of tcoyf today. I started chatting on cd 1 and it shows I O'd on cd 15 but if I put a temp for cd 18 is says I O'd on cd 17. I guess I need to get better at temping. Either way I feel like I'm learning more about my body which is always a good thing.

I just bought mine and am only on chapter 3 but cannot put it down since I bought it yesterday! I read a lot on our back porch and I am typically home before MH and he came home yesterday and was like oh you're reading, what is it? And he goes "oooh you're READING" with this wide eyed look lol! Because we are not supposed to be TTC actively until next spring/summer and I think the title can look pretty intimidating to most men haha! I informed him that it will help me to know my cycle better so that we can be better at preventing for now but also have better chances of conceiving when we would like to! He knows I loooove having all the facts about pretty much everything so he just laughs and carries on lol
My husband is the same way. He knows I'm way more of planner/researcher than him. For him, TTC is so far away still (next spring), he prefers to tackle things as they arise! Still patiently waiting for my amazon shipment with TCOYF to arrive, but I did share with him some lovely facts from over at the "Postpartum Awareness" thread. That ought to be enough awareness for him for a couple months )
I'm confident with what I'm seeing on FF now that I gave my husband a run down of what we see on the chart. He was sweet enough to listen to what I had to say, because I was so excited.

I just started temping yesterday on my CD1. So let's see how this first complete cycle goes.
