I delivered at 35w3d and she's 1w2d old now. Still in the NICU but she's doing pretty good. In utero she was diagnosed with a pleural effusion and hydrops, which means she had fluid in her chest and other places like her belly. So I always knew we would be in the NICU after she was born but I'm really relieved with how she's doing. She doesn't seem to have any issues from the pleural effusion, it's just typical preemie stuff. Right now she's having trouble with feeding and not taking as much as they want so she has a feeding tube in her nose. But I was able to breast feed for the first time today and it went really well! Overall I'm doing good, had a very easy recovery from labor as I had no tearing or stitches. I just can't wait to bring my little girl home with me.
Had my baby girl at 31w6d Due to placenta previa/Accreta . She is almost 4 weeks old. They had my hopes up about her coming home this week because she had started taking all her feeds by bottle unfortunately they stopped her caffeine & she's been struggling with out it & hasn't been able to continue all her feeds by bottle. She also had to get her feeding tube back in. So I'm Thankful these are LO'S only issues but wish she could come home so badly! I'm doing pretty good. Just trying to juggle all 4 kiddos and driving back n forth to the hospital everyday.
I delivered right at 34 weeks due to pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. She's 1 week and 1 day old today. She was amazingly born without needing much help in the NICU. She had a nasal canula for 1 day when they 1st gave her a bottle. She'll be in an open crib either tomorrow or Thursday and then we'll get to bring her home this weekend or the beginning of next week!! So excited and proud of my baby girl! I've been pumping milk like crazy just to keep myself busy when I'm not in the NICU visiting. My c-section has healed very well. My doctor thinks I'm going to develop eclampsia now. I'm on bp meds still. The hope was that my bp would go back to normal after delivering, but it's actually gotten even worse.
I delivered at 23w1d due to chorioamnionitis ( I think I'll post my birth story later) and baby just turned 3 months on the 10th. He is 36w6d adjusted and weighs just under 5lbs. He had a little set back last week and had to go back to the NICU, but they've stopped his caffeine and if he doesn't have any episodes by Saturday he will be coming home on Sunday! He passed his hearing test and so far does not show any effects from being born so prematurity. It has been a roller coaster of emotions but we're almost there! I'm exhausted with work and running back and forth to the hospital, I actually start a new position today that I'm so excited about!
@lrichhx05 so great to hear that you got to nurse her and she's doing well and you're doing well! She's really cute with her dark hair! One of my LOs struggled with feeds and had to have a feeding tube and it felt really defeating but it really took the pressure off of feeding him. Hang in there!
@CarelessDiva89 so great that she's nearing the end of being in the hospital! I hope she gets all of her feeds in soon and you can all be home together. Kudos for doing all of this with your brood of kids! She's really cute!
@sjra1028 so glad LO is doing so well! She looks so sweet in her little pillow! Glad to hear that you're healing well and I didn't realize that you can still have so many BP issues after delivering. Hope it improves soon and you're all home together.
@joiead I can't believe how old your sweet baby is now! Sorry to hear about the recent setback but it's great that you're nearing the end. I'm so impressed you've done all of this while working! Wow!
@emmacake08 yeah it was upsetting when she got it but also relieving. I always felt stressed out when it came time to feed her so it took away some of the pressure. Thank you
I had my sweet girl emergency c section tuesday morning early. a very scary night, plan on sharing my story later on. She was born at 34 weeks. That means my little Lillian Maelynn is 1 day old! I can't even being to explain how surreal that this happened already. I am doing good! Our little babe is doing really good. She has a cpap going but isn't using oxygen, and has the lowest pressure to help her lungs open. She finally pooped so she got some relief tonight. Hopefully in the next few day the cpap machine comes off and our next step is for her to be able to feed on her own! Glad to hear everyone else is doing well too, baby steps to move mountains! Our little ones got this!
@emmacake08 getting past the last couple hurdles to get home can take some time & I'm trying so hard to be patient. She had a caffeine booster which helped her apnea spells. She started taking all feeds by mouth again & her feeding tube will be back out tomorrow. Praying that her respiratory system will mature enough by the time the caffeine is out of her system so that we can pass a car seat test in the next week & maybe go home! Thanks for all the support
I had my little Ryan Patrick via induction on July 2 at 34 weeks due to pprom at 24 weeks 3 days (10 weeks of hospital bed rest). He is 2 weeks old today and still in the NICU but doing great! He never needed help breathing and the only thing keeping him there is feeding. He takes about half a bottle of breast milk and does breast feed but needs his feeding tube to supplement. He is 6lb 3.1oz today. So as soon as he starts taking his full feedings the tube will be removed. He needs to keep up his weight and feed good for 48 hours after the tube is removed to come home! Hopefully that will be soon!

Mallory was born at 36 weeks, 5 days, not really considered a "premie" but by their standards, she was not full-term! We spent 6 days in the NICU and we're finally home! It's going to be a long road for us all, as she has a bi-lateral brachial plexus injury she incurred during delivery (her shoulders were stuck and dr. Basically yanked her out of me), but other than that, she is absolutely perfect. Her right arm is in worse shape than the left. She can move her fingers, wrists, and sometimes have a little flex in her elbow but other than that, her arm is pretty much limp . She will most likely need years of physical therapy and intervention, but we are so thankful for our sweet, perfect girl! I am doing pretty well- I have a 4th degree tear since she had to be pulled out of me (let me tell you- this brings the whole "the first time you poop after delivery is horrifying" thing to a whole new level) That was pretty painful!!! Other than that, I'm still having so much swelling in my legs (and boobs), so breastfeeding is rather difficult, but we are getting there! Hope all of you other mamas, babies, and daddies are doing well!

Glad to hear from you @kedbach ! You and sweet Mallory sound like strong ladies! Sorry to hear about her birth injury but I'm sure with her amazing parents, it will improve. Glad to hear you're healing and everyone is home together. Enjoy your little precious one! I'm sure you have loads of insight for us bumpies now that you've been through it all.
Thank you so much @emmacake08 :x I'm not going to the July board no matter what! I'm here for all of you ladies! I know I'm not an expert but if anyone has questions, fire away!
I saw your post @carleyec93 about LO being in the hospital for jaundice. Hope she's home soon and it isn't too stressful!
@CarelessDiva89 saw your update on Kinsley. We were at the apnea stage of care with LOs for 10 days. Every day we went we dreaded asking the nurses if they had an episode. It's so frustrating knowing you've got 5 more days! Hope you're doing well tough mama!
@DSculley1824 little Ryan looks so cute! So great to hear that he can do partial feeds on his own. He's got a great weight too! I hope you're all home together soon.
@Clovell23 glad to hear about baby Lillian (beautiful name)! Keep us updated about how she's doing and how you are. Hope she's off cpap soon and tackling her feeds!
Stay strong mommas! Glad to hear all your little ones are moving right along! I have so much admiration for all of you. Anytime you all need anything just let us know. Thoughts and prayers for you all.

Yes her apnea spells are her biggest challenge right now. I can't believe she is 1 month old Today. Thank you for all the support. Definitely makes me feel so much better when I'm having a rough day!
Baby Lucy is 4 days old and enjoying some time under the lights in the NICU! She was born at 37+2. We will probably be here in the NICU for a few days. She didn't pass her hearing test in her right ear so we need to get that checked again, but otherwise she is doing well! Taking her feedings well. She sprayed her dad with poop this morning, so the doctor is confident that will bring her bilirubin levels down quite a bit

@carleyec93 Aren't babies AMAZING?! I was changing LO & thank goodness I was standing on the side because she sprayed poop twice & it literally shot 2 feet hit the cabinets in the nicu & made a pile the size of my Palm on the floor. Not to mention what landed in her bed & on my hand. The nurses were very impressed & laughing so hard wanting to take a picture of it. (We didn't though ) )
Cora was born at 34 weeks and 1 day. She will be 1 week old on Monday. I was hoping that she would make it home by this coming Friday but that is not looking likely as she has had setbacks with her bottle feeding. We can't seem to get pass 4 out of 8 feedings being completed with bottles. I want to spend all my time in Nicu but with a 3 year old at home it's only fair to split my time between the two of them especially since I already spent 3 weeks in the hospital for other pre-term issues then delivery. I cry every time I leave her and every time I see her, often when I'm pumping and even last night when singing my husband happy birthday with my 3 year old because I wished she was with us. I feel bad because I know she is probably doing better than other babies in the Nicu and I should be grateful but I'm really sad. I want her home!! I also hate that I'm going to need another surgery during my maternity leave to remove tumors that I have so that will be even less time I have to bond with her. And the surgery I had a few weeks ago is only 50% effective so I may need another surgery for that situation as well. Anyway I'm doing okay but I'm having my moments of sadness and I'm trying to pull myself out if it.
@CountingMyBlessings Cora looks so sweet! It's so good to hear that she is so healthy. It is amazing that even just a matter of a few days can make a difference in a preemie taking all feeds by bottle. I'm crossing my fingers that those days are coming soon for you. Hope your upcoming surgery goes well and you're all home together soon. I'm sure you're doing amazing balancing it all. Try not to be hard on yourself.
