6 week shots

any STM or moms of babies who have already had their 6 week vaccines want to impart any wisdom on how it went?

LO is going today and I don't know what to expect in terms of fever, fussiness etc after. Should I buy baby Tylenol?

My practice is very no-nonsense about vaccines and will not accept you as a patient unless you agree to have your child get every shot exactly as scheduled (which is a reason I chose them), so a delayed or split schedule is not an option.

Thanks in advance for the tips.

    I'm planning on taking my son for his BCG vaccine tomorrow (against TB - we'll be taking him to see his extended family in India in January so we wanted him to be covered), so no experience yet but I will soon. I've got baby Tylenol - I figure that it's best to have it on hand in case LO has a fever or fussiness afterwards. I'd prefer to have it and not need it than to find myself wishing I had it in the middle of the night.

    I haven't done this yet. My LO will be vaccinated at 8 weeks...that's when my pedi does it. I've heard from friends that baby Tylenol is a must and really helps. I'm already dreading that appointment!

    We were told to bring the Tylenol with us to the dr. After the dr gets the weight of the baby he will then tell us how much to give him. The nurse said that is usually takes a few hours for the medicine to kick in so giving the baby the Tylenol at the office after the shots are given.

    Tylenol and nursing or a bottle right after are always helpful.

    Have a bottle (boob) ready so you can scoop them and feed them. I found that helped my daughter calm down. We have Tylenol prior to the appointment as well.

    I fed her immediately after..but apparently there is new research that Tylenol can lessen the body's immune response and the effectiveness of the vaccines. Ugh...stupid research. So we didn't give the Tylenol. But I gave myself lots of wine because she was so cranky. She's better today with the occasional scream.

    LO had her second round of HepB & a heel stick for blood today at her 1 month appt. She screamed bloody murder. Gosh it sounds awful to say but my DH & I were giggling a little bc she was screaming so much, but then almost involuntarily, I started tearing up. Poor baby was freaking out. Once I picked her up & DH patted her bottom she calmed a little (which was sweet to see she knew me holding her) & then immediately nursed her. That helped a lot. She was fussy tonight though.

    She has to get her shots that they usually give at her 2 month appt 2 weeks early since she's starting daycare at 7 weeks. I googled ways to help & "they" said sugar water on pacifier & nursing/feeding after. I also saw about the Tylenol study @dancegurl118 - did you see the research for the 5 S's? A doctor did a study where parents did 5 S's after shots (at 2 & 4 months) & kid calmed down much faster than sugar water. Interesting.

    LO cried a little but calmed down quickly... My pediatrician said only Tylenol IF a fever and not to use just because.... She had not fussiness or fever.
