Hello, I'm new to the group. I have 10 week old twins who were born a bit premature. They are doing great and growing like weeds.
I am so hoping to get to the point where I can breastfeed them exclusively. We had a slow start to breastfeeding with the two week NICU stay. At my max I could pump 9oz but that for some reason dropped off at about 4 weeks. I saw a breastfeeding specialist who started me on domperidone and fenugreek about 5 weeks ago. I haven't noticed an improvement. I pump about 6oz after about three hours of no breastfeeding and my twins each take about 4oz each feeding so I'm definitely falling short.
I tried a "milk holiday" where all I focus on is breastfeeding as often as possible. Though they seemed satisfied, neither of them put on any weight this week

I have added back their formula supplementation and have instead started pumping after each feeding.
How long do you need to pump after each feeding before you notice supply improve?
Thank you in advance ladies
Re: Improving supply
If they seemed satisfied, that's tricky. My friend had her aunt help her get her supply back up - it was 10 days or so: Nurse Baby A on left while pumping right breast; pass off Baby A for bottle, nurse Baby B on right while pumping left breast, pass off Baby B for bottle, pump both breasts. Repeat in reverse every 2-3 hours 24-7. I am not quite sure whether the babes no longer drank the extra from the bottle or she withdrew the bottle and how their weights were impacted but she was EBF by two weeks and stayed that way. Congrats on your babies!
