ER Trip/Gall Bladder *update*

After chillin' in the ER and seeing both my doctor/ob and the surgeon it was decided that my gall bladder should come out. So today we had the surgery and I'm at home trying to rest with the DH handling the two year old and whatnot. Honestly I'm in more discomfort from the fact that they inflated my abdomen than from the surgery sites (laperoscopic surgery), so I'm hoping that will be the harshest part of this. All I need to do now is not pick up my son for two week (haha) and heal. With any luck this will be the only "fun" I have going on during this pregnancy.

  • I'm hoping that's the worst you have to deal with too. Best wishes!
  • Yikes! I'm glad that all for squared away safely for you. I had a coworker whose doc advised against the removal during her pregnancy and she ended up home on bed rest with a visiting nurse administering IV nutrition daily because she literally couldn't eat anything.

  • Hope the recovery goes well!! May I suggest medicinal starburst for your recovery? :) Good luck!

  • Yikes! Wishing you a speedy recovery!
  • So glad it is out and you are recovering. Best of luck for a fast recovery. Not to scare you but I have a friend who had her appendix out at 18 weeks and toward the end of the pregnancy had weird sharp pain due to the scar tissue from the surgery stretching. Just something to watch for.
  • Glad things went well. Having docs pump air into your gut is NO JOKE. The gas pains really suck. Good luck and FX for a speedy recovery!!
  • I always wondered if this was something they could do when you're pregnant. (Not enough to Google, though.) So glad it went well and hoping for a quick recovery!

  • My mom had that same surgery and the having air pumped in was definitely the most uncomfortable part for her. Hopefully it gets better! My mom has recovered well and can still eat the same things she did before, so hopefully you feel much better now!!
