Diclegis making my nausea worse. Am I the only one?

I've had really bad nausea 24/7 for the past 5 weeks. I finally got a prescription for diclegis but oddly every time I take it at night, the next day my nausea is worse than ever. Am I the only one who reacts to it this way?? I really wanted it to work. I am loosing my mind with this nausea and desperate for a solution.

  • I'm also prescribed that but my morning sickness isn't as bad as yours and I'm not taking it daily. I want to say the first few times I took it while neasous or already on the edge it made me pretty nauseous. Maybe try taking it with some OTC meds like Emertrol?

  • I take it and it makes the nausea bearable. I take 2 at night and once during the day.I have noticed that if I do not eat every couple of hours its not effective. I also eat something before I get out of bed. I still can only eat bland foods like rice, grits, baked chicken, eggs, etc. Anything with seasonings, sauce, oil, etc makes the nausea worse. Hope this helps.
  • I seriously doubt it made your m/s worst, most M/S gets worst as week 6 come anyway.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • I have taken it and it seems to make it better. If you wake up and still feel sick it tells you to take another pill in the morning. It has very weird instructions but has helped me. Good Luck!

  • I take it at night and it doesn't make me more nauseous the next day. I actually feel fine but then out of nowhere I will just vomit. I guess this only helps with nausea and not vomiting.

  • I'm so sorry your struggling. I had no idea how sick I was going to feel. The drug has worked for me, but I'm still not operating at full. Have you tried acupuncture? I'm also doing that and have some faith that it is working. This too shall pass. Hard to believe it, but the sickness is actually a really good strong sign :)
  • Prob not making it worse. I was taking at around 6-7 weeks, and only at night. My symptoms were increasing so I started taking during the day too. You can take up to 4 a day. So try upping the dose to see if it tames it. And good luck!! I'm 11w tomorrow and still nauseous at times.
  • It definitely made my nausea worse. I'm 8 weeks and 2 days and I was in the ER for fluids because I hadn't been able to keep anything down, including water. They gave me some zofran for nausea while at the ER and wrote a prescription for Diclegis. I get home and manage to keep down a bit of chicken noodle soup and some pretzels. I went to take the Diclegis before bedtime and within 10 minutes I was vomiting again. I won't be taking this again.

@khow24 you do realize this OP's kid is nearly 3 years old, right?
  • And plus also you didn’t give the meds time to work. They have to get absorbed before they work. Ten minutes was not enough.
