Moms that have a 6 month old or younger and pregnant, do you feel you will get criticize?

I feel once we announce we are pregnant, again, we will have people telling us it was too soon. I kind of feel embarrassed. We always wanted to have our children close in age, but #2 came sooner than expected. I know we shouldn't care what others say. They are not feeding us or our babies. I'm 32 and my hubby 38 and have careers so it's not like we are teenagers. I can't stop feeling embarrassed. Do any if you feel this way?

People who do the judging are the ones that have the problems. Its going to be crazy for a while but if you can swing it financially and sanity wise then its you who has to deal with it in the end. Many in my family are 1 year behind in school from siblings and its always seemed to work.

I have a best friend that had her babies 12 months apart. It was a bit difficult for her since she is EBF her youngest. But she just basically takes care of the youngest and her husband the oldest. Like getting up with them or putting them to bed, feeding ect. People will be shocked of course but a baby is always a joy. My younger ones will be 21 months apart, and I'm feeling the same way as you, and we also are grown with careers.

I'm in a similar situation. Just found out we are pregnant with no. 2 and DS is only 10 months, I'm ecstatic but am kind of wondering what everyone else will say lol. We wanted them close and decided when DS was born we would start trying again in June....well that was fast, exactly one month later I took two home tests that were immediately positive. I was shocked because I'm still breastfeeding and he still nurses ever 2-3 hours at night!!! I thought it would take forever!!! So excited though, who cares what others think. I say they just aren't as brave as us!

Meh, it's really nobody's business. I have a one year old and expect to hear about it when we go public (though, the immediate family that we did tell is really just thrilled).

I'm sure it'll be a challenge at the beginning but I'll bet once you get used to it, it'll be fun. I'm just trying to wrap my head around the fact that in a number of short months we'll be back to no longer sleeping at night. I've mentally blocked those times out haha.

I'm sure there may be a few jokes but in the end people just want the best for you. If someone criticizes then that's just very rude.

PS - a second time mom I actually think it's impressive. High five for even having it in you to get it on again. The first four or five months were tough!

One of my good friends was pregnant about 2 months of giving birth to her son. Her kids are 11 months apart. No shame. It's her life, although to be honest I really don't think it was on purpose.

She is going to school to get her degree wants to go back to work when her kids enter elementary school. With how close they are in age, she just bumped up how soon she can go back to work! Bonus for her.

I will most likely only have 1 at this point, so this isn't an option for me. But with my age (I'm only 35, but apparently that is Advanced Maternal Age read:old eggs!), if I were going to have more I would turn right around and start trying right away!

Sometimes it just happens, sometimes it's planned that way. Who cares?!

My coworker will be having babies within 11 months. She told me because we work in the same classroom but has told very few others because she doesn't want to hear the comments. She knows they will happen eventually but she's putting it off as long as she can. This was not her intention either so I think she's a little worried as well. Her first baby was very premature (29 weeks) so she has a lot of anxiety about it.

We are older parents and always planned on spacing the kids closely. My first baby was 4mo when I got pregnant with #2. I ignored any comments that weren't supportive, bc I just didn't care. We were too excited to pay them any mind.

I'm sure I will get criticized but I seriously don't care (so far family has been so excited). They don't know our story. Our first two boys took a total of 25 months to conceive because my husband had thyroid cancer, got half his thyroid removed, has been on the thyroid med rollercoaster. My cycle is NEVER off, we were using FAM to avoid and this month I ovulated 5 days early (3 days after unprotected). So this baby is a true surprise gift from God. And I will tell them our story if they care that much to criticize it.

Mine will be 14 months apart if this baby makes it to our due date. First was 6 weeks early so I won't be surprised if they're close. Due dates are only 3 weeks apart.

First was a fertility baby and so we decided to just kind of see what happened since some women's hormones get "reset" for a while after having a baby--obviously I am one of those women!

This is my first so I'm not in this situation, but from an outside perspective I wouldn't judge! Close in age is nice, and working in a school I see examples of one year apart all the time. I don't think anyone has the right to criticize you unless you are overly relying on that person financially or for childcare (which you aren't!)

I just found out tonight that I am pregnant. I feel the way you do at the moment. Just in an emotional.... shocked stage. I don't want to hear the comments...I'm afraid of what my horomonal rage would say. Gonna try to wait as long as I can. I have a 5 month old and I'm 5 weeks pregnant right now. Holy moly.

I absolutely love having the the first 2 13m apart. They are great friends and perfect playmates. We wanted that spacing for 3&4 too, but it wasn't to be; they'll be 2y apart (which is an awkward gap for me, but I'm happy no matter what).

@skruhmin, that's an amazing story! Prayers for your husband - my dear friend just had a thyroidectomy and she has been on that rollercoaster too. Sending hugs!

I came across your post.. I'm due this Nov with a boy I have a 7 month old daughter.. My babies will be 10 1/2 months apart.. I'm shocked.. I understand the "embarrassing " feeling, when people judge in case I say two things. My 1st and 2nd are 12 years apart, and all babies are a blessing. I'm providing and loving raising them, the headaches, the joys, long nights, first steps etc all of this I will live it so who cares what anyone says

We have a 14 year old and a 10 month old, and now 8 wks pregnant again and i'm upset and scared about it already and perhaps a bit embarrassed but anyways we went to Buy Buy Baby this weekend and the girl working there made a comment somthing like another one already? I was so insulted and embarrassed but I guess now I have to deal with the criticism
