NBR: Kitchenware

When we first got married 3 years ago we started most of our kitchen stuff off with cheapish IKEA type pots, pans, knives, etc. Well, 3 years seems to be the lifetime for most of these so I'm in the market for some nice, quality cooking gear. Willing to splurge for some great knives but would like to stay within reason for the rest (too many adorable baby things I have my eye on!). Any good brand or product recommendations?
Dishwasher safe is ideal (whose gonna want to do extra dishes with a newborn?).

Pampered Chef!!! They can be a little expensive but totally worth it. If you find a consultant they usually have great deals.

We have a Calphalon knife set that we absolutely love. We received as a wedding gift almost 3 years ago and they are still in great condition. And they are used fairly regularly. I think the set we got was about $300.

Pampered chef vote # 2. If you can host a party, even a book party, you can get some good deals. I have knives and pans from them and some other nifty gadgets.

We have Wusthof knives and love them. I don't remember how much they were- I think we've had them for over 10 years now. We use them daily and they are still in great condition.

We received flatware for our wedding from our registry. I love love LOVE it, it's dishwasher safe, and it looks classy yet casual. Just realized you didn't ask about flatware, haha! Oops, you can look at it anyway.

For pots/pans: We registered at Kohls and got some great deals there. Martha Stewart brand pans, Farberware pots/pans, and a few Food Network finds too. Kohls was a great spot to find them all at!
