I rarely post on here but I'm having difficulty finding a dress for a bridal shower that I really like. I love this one, but is it ok to wear ivory to a bridal shower when I'm not the bride? What do you think?!?!
The background is ivory but I think the pattern is bold enough that no one is going to think you're stealing the bride's thunder! I think this is a fine dress!

I think it looks good, don't worry about the ivory. Just got back from a wedding this weekend, many people were wearing ivory, and the bride was still the only one getting all the attention, as it should be =] have fun!
Definitely thought it was for your bridal shower before I clicked.
I think it's a beautiful dress! I'd go with it.
Also: where is it from, as ladies need maternity clothes
>:D<
I have that dress in 2 different patterns. Super comfy and flattering. It's from www.pinkblushmaternity.com the clothes are super reasonable and they always have a discount code online.

OP I think you'll look gorgeous and I wouldn't worry about the minor white background. @beccabeeee where was this wedding? In the northeast no one would ever wear white or ivory but they would wear black and/or red. When I moved to the south I heard black and/or red were strictly forbidden at weddings just like whites.
@CMDD I live in Cali, wedding was up in Santa Barbra. I was also under the impression that black was a no go for weddings, but I guess it's becoming a more popular thing? Lol actually, now that I think about it, I saw a lot of guests wearing black. My dress was pink. A lot of the guests that were at the reception weren't at the ceremony. Ceremony was pretty small, and the reception was geared more towards dancing and partying and was about 200 guests
In the South, wearing black would be for a funeral, so it'd probably be looked at funny to wear to a wedding, like you want to wish the couple bad luck or something. In any case, I think that if it was a wedding happening during the dinner hour, a black cocktail dress would probably be ok. Or not? I don't know.
I think this dress is perfectly acceptable for a bridal shower. Color restrictions are specifically for the wedding and reception. Plus the pattern is so bold and lovely that white isn't even the first color that comes to mind when I would describe that dress.
I've only ever heard of ivory/white being a potential issue at weddings ... not showers. Most showers I've been to the bride didn't even wear white. I did, but I think I'm the only one.
Plus, that dress isn't ivory. It's a beautiful floral pattern and no one would consider it ivory. And if they did, they're ridiculous. I say go for it it's adorable!
@grovess3284 I'm loving this site! Ugh now I'm gunna spend a bunch of money haha so many cute things and now I'm trying to decide btwn that dress and another floral print one for my baby shower

Show us the other one! I really wanna see it now lol
@rachel10488 I ordered that one in a diff color but had to send it back. It was too small in the boob area for me and didn't have much stretch. I'd size up if you get that one
@Caligurl858 yeah, I actually feel the same so think I'd prefer long. My shower is August 29th! Early but i have to travel across the country for it so need to get it done before 3rd trimester.
@grovess3284 thanks for letting me know! I'm definitely more into the stretchy stuff now so think I'll skip over that one then
Re: Opinions Wanted - Dress for Bridal Shower
Is there something about wearing ivory to a bridal shower?

It would be a problem if it looked like this one.
