Doppler Appt.

Did anyone else have a hard time hearing the heartbeat with doppler? I'm 11w5d and had a doppler today and the reading said 177bmp, but the midwife said the baby wasn't in a good place for hearing the heart beat. I know I wouldn't have been sent out of there if something was wrong, but I'd just like to know if anyone had this happen too? I heard a very loud heartbeat at 8w with a transvaginal ultrasound.

    At this point, the uterus is still tucked down behind the pubic bone. Hearing from inside is much easier than hearing from outside.

    I went in for a belly check at 11+3 and my Dr couldn't find a heartbeat at all. Even tho she assured me it was normal (bc baby is so small at that point), I was still sick with worry for two weeks... Went to our 13+3 NT scan this morning - all is healthy & beautiful! Don't worry, chances are that everything is perfect with your precious little one!

    They couldn't hear mine with the Doppler at 11weeks everything is fine! Don't worry I'm 15w2d and saw and heard mine yesterday

    At 11 wks it took the dr a few minutes and some pushing. Today she did it at 15 weeks and found it instantly so just hold tight as the baby peeks out it will be easier to find

    Thank you all for letting me know you experienced the same thing! It helps a lot!
    It makes me question why it's common to try a Doppler around 11 weeks, and then just tell us it's normal not to be able to hear it! I would have rather waited longer : )

    I had my appointment Monday at 10+1 and it took a good 4-5 mins to find it.  Baby is behind the pubic bone so she had to get the angle just perfect in order to hear it.  While she was checking she said not to worry if we don't find it b/c it was still early and that at the next appointment we would find it right away.

    We found it at the 11 week appt but it took a while and was really quiet. Scared me too but our midwife said all the same stuff, that its normal that early to have trouble. Todays appointment at nearly 15 weeks it was loud and clear!
