34 weeks - baby engaged hip pain!

I have been struggling with left sided hip pain for the last couple of weeks, gradually getting worse, so much so that just taking the dog a walk in unbearable anymore. I saw the midwife yesterday & she tells me that the baby's head is so low in my pelvis now that she can barely feel the head & that explains my hip pain. She booked me in to see her again in 2 weeks time (36 weeks) & said I'd do well to keep baby in until then....! Really!!?? I am booked a c-section at 38+1 due to a heart problem & now I'm worried baby will come early & my booked section will be rushed to an emergency section if my waters break/go into labour!
My hip pain was so unbearable last night that I literally had to crawl on my hands & knees to the bathroom... I want baby here so these pains will stop, but I don't want it to come too early & now I'm just worrying! Anyone else been told baby will come early & it did/didn't??
Arghhhh......! Just 4 more weeks to go!!

Thank you for sharing - my hip pain has worsened suddenly, I wonder if my babe is doing the same thing. I see the midwife on Thursday... Sorry I don't have any input, my first baby was nearly two weeks late and I never felt this with him.

No experience, but good luck keeping LO in as long as possible!

My friend was told her baby was engaged at some point in her last month, but then apparently it disengaged and "floated back up". (Her words) I don't know if that's a common thing but she ended up going to 41 weeks, so there's hope

I'm 34 weeks today, and my lower stomach and hip pain is becoming a serious problem. I see my doctor today and am planning on letting him know.
