35w and he still hasn't flipped

Is anyone else still waiting for their LO to flip over at the last minute? Currently 35 weeks and he still has yet to flip over. My doctor has scheduled a c section for Aug 11th (my due date is Aug 17th).

  • Due date is the 13th
  • I'm due August 16th and scheduled for a repeat c section on August 11th. I have weekly sonograms since I'm over 40. My LO was head down for weeks then changed to breech 2 weeks ago and last Friday couldn't get comfy and he is again head down. Don't worry your LO might flip again – lol
  • Mine just flipped this week!!!! So happy and I hope she stays.

  • I have weekly BPP ultrasounds as DS was born at 27w so my MFM doc wants to check and make sure everything is going good. He was head down at the 20w u/s, and started the weekly ones at 28w. He has been head up ever since. Making me stressed as I was hoping for a VBAC since DS was emergency c section. Crossing my fingers, lol

  • 35 weeks, due the 15, and has been breech or sideways this whole time. But my doctor said she has no problem turning babies so fingers crossed.

She won't do an ecv on me as I had a previous c section. She says its too much for the scar.

  • Mine is still transverse! You girls having ECVs, please let us know how it goes! I have an US again in 2 weeks and will have to decide then whether we want to go that route so I'd love to hear! Hoping all your little ones start cooperating!

Bummer! This ones my first. Good luck to you.
  • I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and at my appointment last week my doctor quickly palpated my belly and said he's breech. I'll find out for sure at my ultrasound this week. If he's still breech we'll talk about doing an EVC which she said only works about 50% of the time. :/

@jenniferkmagnucon thank you for sharing about spinning babies! Such a positive way to work towards changing the position of your baby

I will be 37 weeks thurs and pretty sure hes in a diagonal position. I have 1 large round lump under my right side rib cage and 1 large round lump above my left hip. I just hope the one at my hip is his head. At least that way he is close. Hoping to remember to ask my doc tomorrow. Its getting pretty tight in there and he seems to be having difficulty getting situated. Feel like he is running out of time to get into the right spot.

Edited- I hate my phone and its slowness!
  • Well we had our ecv this morning. Baby and I are ok, they tried three times to flip him but he kept rotating back to his original position. so we will be meeting him via c section on July 28th, only two weeks away!! they said there must be a good reason he's frank breech so I'm trying to be ok with it and get excited about meeting him! Btw, I did try a bunch of stuff on the spinning babies website starting at 34 weeks, including breech tilt and inversion positions, Webster technique with a chiropractor, and burning moxibustion. REALLY wanted to try to avoid c section but at least I know I tried everything and there must be a reason he won't flip. Good luck to all the other breech mommas and babies!

I'm sorry it didn't work but I'm glad you're not getting too worked up about a c section. Mine is breech also so we might be trying the EVC. How was the pain?

Not gonna lie it was pretty bad but they slowed down every couple minutes and gave me breaks, and it was over in probably 15 minutes. I was told to expect to be super sore and bruised but so far I'm not feeling too bad. Good luck with yours if you have to do it!! Just think if it works it's totally worth the pain. And honestly I'm glad we tried, now I know going in to the c section we gave it our best shot :/
  • That's a good attitude to have!
  • I was at 35 weeks, but at a 36 week positioning u/s (to be able to book an ECV), baby had flipped to head down! There's still time!

Plus I was going to decline a csection and attempt a vaginal breech.

  • I have the option of having this done Wednesday but am super nervous about it. My doctor informed me he doesn't have much experience with it and if I am uncomfortable opt to just schedule a c section. I'm thinking of just going that route for the safety of our little girl and the fact that 40 percent of the time this works.
  • Still plenty of time for the baby to flip, don't worry:)
  • Our sweet girl was head down, and then decided to flip week 37 (shes keeping us on our toes). Thankfully she is head down now and locked (-1 station as of last Friday). There is still time for your LO to flip. Sending positive vibes your way! It's a nerve wracking thing but stay postive :)

  • I'm 36 weeks today and he is still transverse. Don't have ultrasound until 39 weeks. Dr doesn't seem worried.
  • Well we have made it to being 37w/3d, just had an ultrasound done on 2 days ago and he is still very much breech. This time with his feet and head up in my ribcage. I have until August 11th, at 9am for him to flip, as that is when we have the c section scheduled. I'm really really hoping that he will still flip, but at being 7lbs (according to last weeks growth ultrasound) I feel that he has ran out of room. :((  Still crossing fingers though, for the next 1w/4d that I have left.

  • I am having a home birth and plan on a vaginal breech birth. Anyone else doing that ?

Im 38 weeks and mine just flipped head down! She has been transverse the entire time. Our c-section is scheduled for Aug 5th but if she is head down on Monday then we cancel it.
I did not think she was moving at all. I was so surprised.
    So its possible :)
  • I still am! She was head down until 36 weeks and then decided to flip. I've tried everything to get her to flip back but nothing has seemed to work so we will be meeting her via c/s August 19
