5 month old reduce formula

So we have been feeding our DD food and in the last few days she doesn't take a whole bottle. She is on the small side and only takes 5 ounce at a time but on a few feeds she only takes 3-4 ounces. Should I be concerned? She loves real food but want her to have all the best nutrition for her.

Re: 5 month old reduce formula

  • If she's not taking as much formula then you should reduce the solids.

  • How much formula is she getting total in a day?  My pedi said anywhere from 20 to 32 ounces is the norm at this age.  My daughter who loves her solid food has gone down to 21-25 ounces a day and my son who is so-so on solids is getting 24-28 ounces a day.

I know with my first around this age she was also eating about 22 ounces a day, she loved her solids.

With my 1st DD I was told to offer the bottle first and then give her food.  At this age their main source of nutrition comes from formula/breast milk.
