Hi there, I just found out that I am RH negative. I'm worried, and know that it should be fine with the rhogam injection. Is anyone else RH negative? There is a history of full-term stillborns on my mother's side. I'm wondering if anyone has a similar background. My doctor didn't have much time for me today after telling me that I am RH negative and I have to wait 4 weeks to ask her again. So I thought I'd ask all of you! Thank you.
Re: Is anyone RH Negative?
When I told my OB about this, he hadn't even heard of that being done.

My gran is pretty worried nontheless because my aunt almost died at birth and had to have blood transfusions.
I'm B- and had to get the rhogam shot with my first because my husband is +. And I will have to get it with my second. I promise, it's not that bad. I even got it in my arm instead of my butt. Tons of people have to get the shot--being RH negative doesn't mean there is anything wrong. I think you will get it around the start of the 3rd trimester unless the dr thinks you need it sooner.
Are you certain that the baby's dad is +? Because if he is also RH negative, you won't have to even get the shot. And if the baby is born with a negative blood type, you won't have to get a 2nd one after delivery.
Only one ended up having a negative.
I never had any complications with any of them.
My family has had a couple of miscarriages but I believe for different reasons.
It's not a big deal as it used to be thanks to that guy in Australia

As for spotting it's difficult to know what it's from, but it's very common to spot in early pregnancy.
