IMPATIENT!

I am struggling! I did a blood test a week ago to find out the gender of the baby. I am 13w1d. I just cant stop thinking about it! It consumes my mind, where will I be when they call? How will I react? Will I be disappointed if my preferred gender is not revealed, which would make me feel guilty. I feel crazy. I am a planner in general which is the main reason I want to know. But does anyone else feel like they just can't wait????

Re: IMPATIENT!

  • I'm also very excited to find out the sex of our baby, but I'm waiting for the anatomy scan. I wouldn't say you are crazy. Just keep reminding yourself that as long as you are having a health baby that's all that matters.

  • I just took my blood test on Thursday and I'm going INSANE waiting to find out if baby has any life-threatening issues and what sex baby is! I literally check my phone every 2 minutes, despite the fact that I know I would hear if they called and that it's only been 5 days (and like 2-3 business days) and I likely won't hear for another day or two earliest. I'm a teacher off for the summer right now, so I also don't have much to occupy myself while waiting!

  • I think the more the suspense the more exciting it will be!!! Think about it. I'll get my blood results soon and DH wants to find out the sex together. When they call me for the results I'll be tempted to find out right then and there but I want to experience the excitement with my DH too.

DH is hoping for a girl but I don't care either way!! After having DS I love boys!!! DS is 2 years old and wants to wrestle and jump off of beds and couches all day long lol. But he has great manners and I call this the terrific twos instead of the terrible twos.

I'm also praying the blood tests show a healthy baby! :)

I am so, so with you. So eager to not only find out gender, but that both of these babies are healthy. I had my blood drawn last Monday and they said samples get picked up that day. The worst part is my doctor's office won't call me to give any results- I have to bother them. So (naturally), I called yesterday. The nurse gave me a lot of attitude and said it's only been 7 calendar days. I explained the test's website says 7-10 calendar days for results. I asked if she could just call me if the results come in, but it's not their policy. So, I called again today and left a message ;-) . They definitely will be annoyed, but I honestly think their policy is the problem. This is arguable the most important information of people's lives!

Thanks everyone great advice! I just need to take deep breaths and pray for healthy and that I am lucky to be having a little one due to my fertility issues.
  • If you're crazy then I am too lol. My test is Friday and I know I'll be checking my phone like Monday already hoping. It's just hard carrying these little people around all day and not knowing if it's happy and healthy and whether to call it your little boy or girl! I'm so tired of saying "it", "baby", or "little one". I have a ton of respect for team green, they have a lot more restraint than me :)
  • @peppercorn16 Agreed. I don't understand people who think surprises are fun, I find them agonizing, haha.

  • Haha @CaraBoonie soooo me! It's painful trying to even wait this long.
  • Oh my gosh I was in the same boat as yall all weekend and Yesterday I had my 15w anatomy scan and sex determination (standard at my doctor) and we are having a girl!!!!!!! Wishing yall all of the patience dust in the world because it was so hard waitin
  • I'm waiting until anatomy scan plus two weeks on top of that so we can find out with our parents ---- so hard to wait. I have zero preference but I NEED to know haha
  • Did the test last Mon 7/6 and still haven't heard.  DH is on a biz trip until Thurs late night, and I have been suckered into agreeing to hold off on finding out the gender (if they do call between now and then) until we can find out together Friday morning.  It's on my mind allllll. the. time.

HaHa! I am so glad I am not the only one. I have been losing sleep over this problem! I wish they would just call!!!!
  • You are all so lucky to find out so soon. My doctor says that I won't find out till my 18 weeks ultrasound and I'm 12 weeks and 4 days! I'm so impatient! This is torture! I already have 3 girls and 1 boy and this is definitely our last baby so I'm dying to know!!!

I don't find out the gender until August 25, I'll be something like 21 weeks. :(
But once I find out I'm going to be like, okay. Give me the baby. Haha

DD has been counting down the days until we find out our gender. Today is the day. Where we are, it is currently 2:20pm. We don't have our appt until 6pm! I'm seriously struggling, but it is killing my poor little girl. She just has to know that she is getting the little sister she's been hoping for. Idk what we'll do if they say she'll have a brother. Lol. Anyone ever witness a three year old stroke out over it not being what they wanted? Haha
lol, DS wants a brother and DD wants a sister who used to say if it is a boy, she is going to throw it in the trash...she just turned 4 but I was seriously giving her the side-eye! She's all good now...we've talked a lot about if it is a boy vs. girl.  We are team green though.

  • @katymae08 When my mom was pregnant with my younger sister she had a sonogram since we got into a bad car accident (back in the days that you didn't get ultrasounds unless something was wrong!) and they were SURE the baby was a boy. My older brother and I (I was 4, he was 7) were brought into a later follow-up ultrasound to meet our baby brother...and found out while there that she was actually going to be a girl. My brother groaned "Not another one" and I literally screamed and jumped up and down I was so excited.

The tech believes that we are going to be having another little girl, but she was so stubborn! Seriously! Feet crossed and in front of wee bits the entire time with all the umbilical cord stuff between legs. I'm still calling her an it until it's confirmed in another two weeks. I don't want to be all she/her and the poor little thing have a set of balls.

DD was excited that we said sister, but not over the moon. She's been a little backward lately over the whole thing. She goes from excited to whatever in .5 secs and confuses us all.
  • I hear you! We can find out at our 19 wk on aug 12 but are waiting to reveal with our parents and siblings so won't know for another month after that. I've never felt so anxious/eager for anything. I have absolutely no preference, but for me since I haven't had a single symptom at all other than bloat, it really hasn't felt real even once yet. I feel like knowing the sex will help me envision the little baby's face (the gender neutral face has been hard to place) and I just cannot wait to do that!
