Places to register. Help needed?!

I'm trying to start my registey. The only place I have currently registered is Amazon. I wanted to provide an online option and I store option. I love target products but I want thrilled with hoe they did with my wedding registry. I haven't heard a lot of positive things about baby's r us either. Suggestions?? I am also cloth diapering so I would prefer a place that provide them. Thanks in advance!!

Babies r us has some cloth diapers in store and more online. They also have a great rewards system for registries and a one year return policy on registry items.

Baby List Registry! You can add from any website. So target, Amazon, babies r us, and any other store as long as it has a website. Their app also offers sample registries which I have loved for inspiration getting started.

I'm with @mollynap - try Babylist!!! (Website is babyli.st) - you can add whatever you want including things like "babysitting services" and other non-store items. And you can put gift cards to local restaurants on it.

As for in store, we did babies r us because they will price match and (depending on which babies r us you go to), they can be super helpful

I honestly loved Target when we registered. You get an amazing welcome gift with coupons, etc. and they are so friendly when you go to do it.

I recommend Buy Buy Baby for a bigger selection, exclusive stuff like the Ferrari F1 walker my husband wanted, gift sets, and higher end products like the Bebe swivel glider that I want but highly recommend you register somewhere else for items like a crib, travel system, bassinet, and high chairs. I did some research/price comparisons and Baby Depot had some exact products for 30% less than Buy Buy Baby. Exact items! So I started a registry there too to save a ton of money. Hope this helps!

Edited to add that today I bought my little sister who is also pregnant a crib and changing table, travel system, and glider with ottoman set from Walmart all for under $400! I recommend Walmart if you want to go further with your money. I'm super pleased with my purchase!

I second the buy buy baby suggestion. I had never even heard of it and the closest one is like 45 mins away, but I will be making the drive over and over again. They were SUPER helpful getting me started and I absolutely loved the store. It's just like bed bath and beyond in that they always have 20%off coupons floating around and the selection was wayyyyy better than target or babies r us.

Team babylist! Also if you've already made registries at other places, you can merge those registries onto babylist. It was great for us because we don't need the typical baby supplies (STM here) and most of what we need is decor items.

Question for the baby list people - I have some relatives that don't do internet. They literally can not understand it and I no longer have the time or patience to bring them up to speed. Does babylist stuff show up if they enter the physical store? For instance, if I register at Target they can print off a list in store of things I've chosen. Will they be able to do that with the babylist registry?

We did babies r us with my son because everyone knows it and it seems to be the first place everyone looks. At the time there wasn't a buy buy baby near us. One thing I liked about it was their returns. If you got something without a receipt, you could add it to the registry and Mark it as purchased and then you could return It without a problem. I don't know if this still works because it was 5 years ago, and it isn't like we had a ton to return, but it was still nice.

The only problem that I found with he target registries is that returns are a nightmare if there wasn't a receipt. The benefit, though is that they are everywhere and people are generally pretty comfortable going to shop at target.

No, it doesn't. That's why I would suggest registering for at least a few things at an actual store (we did babies r us because we have several people that don't do internet either)

No, it doesn't. That's why I would suggest registering for at least a few things at an actual store (we did babies r us because we have several people that don't do internet either)

Thank you. I suspected that was the case. I think I'll stick to Amazon for the online registry then. Amazon gives you 10 - 15% off of any items that were not purchased from your registry as does Target.

@VexedMommy We started our registry at babies r us and target but I was getting fed up with the lack of what I wanted. Babylist did let me import my registry and it still stays up at babies r us, too. So while they aren't simultaneously updated as you add items, it does let you check off yourself when you've received something. If they went through the store and not through the website you can still mark it. I really like that we could add things from any store (currently obsessed with the Burt's Bees Baby line!). I've definitely been worried about great grandparents that won't use the internet for things, so that helped...plus if they get something we don't want we can just return and buy diapers.

Dh and I have big families and I feel like our shower is going to end up pretty large, but I can't find more than like 50-60ish things that I think I need to register for.

I went with Babies R Us, and so far I've been happy with the ease of use. I thought about registering in two places originally, but it was more trouble than it was worth IMO. The BRU came with a registry checklist, which has helped me a lot.

My registry is only in the 40s! I'm having my mom look it over and give suggestions.

I would say don't worry about it because (unfortunately) it seems like so many people go off-registry for the gifts they give you. You're going to get a ton of clothes, receiving blankets, and board books. 50-60ish items (or even 40, @CarrieOct15) will be fine (especially if you have a decent spread on pricing). Don't register for things you don't think you're going to need because they'll just take up space and you're already going to get things you don't need lol (hopefully with receipts).

Edit: if you really want to add more things to your registry, add gift cards or things for mommy and daddy - you matter too!

I also registered for a few nursing pajamas/robes on Amazon. I figured I will need them for after baby and they will give people a few more ideas. Like you, I have a long guest list and short registry! Don't forget little things like hangers, laundry detergent, baby Tylenol/other meds. You will need them!

I also put gift cards for nursing bras on mine because a)they're expensive and I'd understand someone not being able/wanting to purchase one for me (since I barely want to spend the money myself) and b) I don't want everyone knowing just how massive my boobs are

You can link an actual in-store registry to your babylist. I have a babies r us registry and a babylist and when you go to the babylist, the babies r us registry is on there. If someone goes to babies r us, they can pull up my name and see the items from that store. You could link an amazon registry to it as well. I like having the extra options for items from etsy, website-only items, etc. The pack n play I want doesn't sell in stores, so I put it on my babylist.

When my friend sent out my registry invites, I had her put babies r us and babylist on the invite, so older relatives knew they could go to a store for the registry.
