Stitches & hemmroids bleeding

is it normal for episiotomy stitches & hemmroids to bleed after vaginal birth?

Re: Stitches & hemmroids bleeding

  • Yes. But your also going to bleed from birth itself. Bleeding can last up to 6 weeks for some women. As for the hemmrhoid so would take a stool softener and stay hydrated to make going number two less scary for a bit.

  • Thank you!! Omg these stitches hurt! I feel a tug each time I sit or stand.
  • Mine were horrible for a few days, but they really do get better fast. Take a lot of Advil/Motrin, if you can. Find something comfy to sit on. For me, a memory foam pillow worked better than a donut. And take everything as slow as you can. Feel better soon!!
  • Totally normal. Use all the soothing remedies they provided for you. Did you push for a while? That happened to me with my first! Super uncomfortable. Feel better momma!
  • Warm prune juice 2x a day and colace use witch hazel pads and peri bottle for stitches. I'd alternate hot and cold water.

    Stool softeners YESSSS.
I was terrified of pooping after and it wasn't as bad as expected.
  • I took baths a few times a day with epsom salts and i found that very soothing...and all the other things mentioned...
