38 weeks and CAN'T sleep!

It's 5am. My husband's alarm went off so he can go to work. I wake up to turn it off....now I'm hungry....might as well make him some toast too. I am now wide awake. Also I layed in bed for 2 hours last night unable to fall asleep. My mind just keeps racing. Going to be a long day with my 4 year old today!

Re: 38 weeks and CAN'T sleep!

  • It's that kind if night for me too. I'm not falling asleep and having no sleep in sight. It's 3:30 here.

  • The last 3 nights have been like this. ...hopw we get some rest before babies come!
  • Hey me too! Lol this has been the norm for the past two weeks or so now:/ I usually can't go back to sleep till 8 or 9 :'(
  • I am lucky if I am asleep before 1am despite feeling knackered all day and longing for sleep. Then once asleep I wake every hour for a wee then I am usually wide awake between 5am and 6am. I spend time in bed at night wishing it was the morning so I can get on with chores, morning comes and guess what, I cant be bothered....eurghh and repeat x
  • I have been like this for the last week. From the mind that won't shut off, the body that will not be comfortable or too hot, the bladder that insists every 2 hours that it is full, or the internal alarm that seems to think I don't need to sleep for more than 3 hours... ugh! I wish this part was over!
  • Same here. I reorganized my linen closet at 5 am...

Yep, sounds about right! I fall asleep after 1am (after going upstairs to bed at like 10:30), wake up every couple of hours to pee and then am wide awake by 6am. Thankfully I work a swing shift and don't have to be in until noon! But by the time I get to work, I am ready for a nap which unfortunately can't happen. I drag ass all day, but then come pillow time I am wide awake again. Everyone keeps saying to enjoy my sleep and rest now because any day now I won't be able to, but I just smile and nod while I imagine me smothering them with a pillow! And I refuse to take unisom or anything besides my prenatal, so insomnia it is!
  • Yep this has been me for a while. And last night my 16 month old joined in. She decided that 3:30 was morning and she wasn't going back to bed. So from 3:30-5:30 she was awake. Yay! She's asleep now and I have to get ready for my doctors appointments. :-/
  • I have been having difficulty for a few weeks not. Cant seem to get more than 3 solid hours in a night. I have terrible allergies, so I started taking benadryl the last 2 nights and it'll at least knock me out initially. It also helps me fall back asleep after I get up to pee. I figured I may as well try to get as much sleep as I can in the next few days, because I'll be up feeding in the night soon.
  • Me too......i wake up like 7 times every night for the past 3 weeks.39 weeks today n I'm always up at 5 my regular wake up time when working bt now I'm off work bt i can't be able to sleep in or even take a nap during the day.
  • Haven't been able to sleep for two weeks! And since Thursday have been sick with a severe sinus infection!! Feeling extremely miserable

I am 38 weeks today and an FTM… The struggle to sleep is real! I sleep in all different places around my house LOL luckily we have a big house and a lot of options. I start on one couch, move to the bed, then to the other couch, then to the water bed in the guestroom, then back to the master bedroom after my's husband goes to work… Literally waking up every two hours to Pee and then changing locations! :((
