Progesterone pills (loss mentioned)

It looks like I'm having another miscarriage...I'm bleeding a lot, but my cervix is still closed and the sac is still in place and looks normal. My doctor gave me progesterone pills and took my blood and wants me to come back on Wednesday to retest. She said if the problem is me the progesterone may help, but if I'm going to miscarry anyway the pills will just delay the inevitable. Anyone have good experience with progesterone with a threatened miscarriage? I'm losing hope that I will ever have a baby...

    I've never tried progesterone supplements myself, but I have heard that in the case of a threatened miscarriage being caused by a natural lack of the progesterone hormone, it can save a pregnancy. The thing is, your doctor is right. If what's happening is a misscarriage due to anything other then low progesterone, then it's going to happen regardless of what you do. There's no way to know now why you're bleeding, so the only thing to do is wait and monitor your hcg levels. I'm hoping for the best for you!

    I had the progesterone shots with my last pregnancy starting at 16 weeks. But they had already known I had low progesterone and an incompetent cervix from my last pregnancy. She's right though. I hope it's just your progesterone. Keep us posted. Good luck

    I boardered the danger zone last time and this time and the progesterone helped and is helping. Sending prayers and hugs your way, I hope it is just a progesterone issue and the meds will help

    Why don't you do blood test for progesterone levels and see if that's the possible issue?

    I did, but my doctor gave me the pills first and then sent me to the lab. She hasn't told me the results of the test yet. The bleeding and cramping has completely stopped and my pregnancy symptoms have increased, so fingers crossed that was the reason!

    My results came back and my HCG is falling, so I guess I'm out. Thanks for all the support! Good luck to all of you!

    So sorry to hear this news. Good luck, I will keep my FX for you. The trying to get pregnant board has many amazing ladies that have also experienced similar situations. They may be able to lend some great support. Just make sure to lurk and get to know them a little.
