My little guy sleeps in and out during the day and often in stroller/car seat but never a real "nap." What works well for others? Do you swaddle during the day? Make it dark?
DS is put in a Swaddle me and rocked to sleep for naps. Once asleep he is put in the playpen (where he sleeps at night) in a pitch black room with white noise on. Over the next few weeks I'm going to start trying to get him to fall asleep on his own and nap in his crib in the nursery. He will be 8 weeks on Wednesday.
Mine is 6 weeks. She's still slightly upside down. We do the swing, bouncer, or pack n play during the day in living room. Only swaddling at night. Trying to differentiate between day and night. Once she goes to daycare- I'll likely move her to nursery for naps. She still sleeps a lot during day so we haven't had to do a lot. We do have a projecter that makes wave noises at night. She's sleeping consistently from 1am to 7am. Then again from 8am to 11am. Nice right now- going to be rough when I go back to work.
My LO is 10 weeks old now. He's been in his crib since 2.5 weeks for naps and through the night. Daytime naps: I usually nurse or rock him to sleep. I never make it dark and I'm never quiet around the house. Nighttime: close the blinds, turn the nightlight and humidifier on. It has a nice star projection on his ceiling. I don't talk to him much when I'm putting him down for the night.
This way he can distinguish day from night and he is usually on a pretty good schedule
Ds2 is 9 weeks and I can't seem to get him on a great nap schedule but it's getting there. I don't put him down for naps in his bed, he naps either in the swing or rock n play in the living room. Our bedroom is a bit too far out of the way from our daily activities and I've just not been comfortable leaving him yet. I should probably start working on that. He's got night time routine down but every day seems different. It's also harder having a toddler around. We mainly play off his schedule. I think it's actually making ds2 a better sleeper because ds1 doesn't really stay too quiet for ds2 to nap!
