Bleeding after exam

I got an internal exam today- I am 38 weeks and 1 cm dialated. I have been having light bleeding and major cramps ever since my appointment. An hour after my appointment, I bled a lot! But it has slowed, still there though. Is this normal?

    depends on what you mean by a lot. A little bleeding is normal. Is the blood brown or dark red? If it's bright pink and it's enough to fill a pad you might want to call just to be on the safe side. Reassurance is never bad

    Thanks! It's brown / dark red. Not enough to fill a liner- but just shocking to see I guess!

    That happened to me with my first child and I had him about 1 1/2 days later. Possibly the bloody show?? But it is normal to spot after internal exam.

    I had the tiniest, faintest pink tinge in some thin discharge the afternoon after my check. I was told to expect some bleeding and contractions...so I was a little in denial when I went into labor that night!!

    I had bleeding last week after my check...not enough to fill a liner though. My doctor told me it was possible to spot or bleed a little after.
