Husband is on Antibiotics

Hello everyone,

So I had to take my hubby to the emergency room this weekend because he has been sick for the past few days. They gave him antibiotics for 10 days and I forgot to ask if the medicine would affect his swimmers. So I asking if anyone has gone through this before and if it was still ok to ttc. This is my first month off of the pill so I am not exactly sure when I will O but I want to give myself the best chances for this month even though my hubby is still sick. FF has me O this week but that is based off of my cycle being on the pill, so this month will be a learning time with me and getting to know my body.

My understanding that meds to make swimmers better take 3 months to start working. I doubt 10 days of antibiotics would affect you negatively. Did you google the RX?

I conceived my first right after DH had his appendix out and was on lots of antibiotics. DS is now 8

@PrimRoseMama the reason I even thought about this is because it is medicine affecting the body and I do not know how it would affect his swimmers. If it is just going to make them weak swimmers I would still ttc, but if it has a bigger affect on them I would want to know. I want the healthiest of swimmer my man can give me.

I would think the antibiotics shouldn't affect anything. In fact there is more chance that fever or illness could affect his sperm count or quality.He needs to stay on the antibiotics for the amount of time that they are prescribed. Antibiotics treat infections and the number one symptom of infection is typically fever. Fevers or high temps can harm sperm.

If anything, antibiotics would be good for sperm if your husband happened to have an infection that was affecting the sperm.
