bicornuate uterus & thyroid condition

Hi all , just wondering if there is anyone out there who has had these two conditions & successfully had a healthy pregnancy , as I'm quiet nervous & this is our first bubba after two miscarriages . just praying for a safe & healthy 33 weeks until we meet our precious miracle .

  • Can't help you, but hope that all will go well! I know very little about bicornate uterusses, but I know plenty of women with thyroid issues went on to have healthy babies.

  • No bicornate uterus here, but Ive been on a few boards with women who found out they had one at the first ultrasound.  It seemed like after the initial 'you have a bicornate uterus' they never ended up mentioning them much.  I think it can make it harder to get pregnant though, right?
What type of thyroid condition do you have?  Do you see an endo?  I have Graves disease, which is hypERthyroidism.  It's a little more tricky to treat during pregnancy and can cause more complications than Hypothroidism but everything was fine with close monitoring of the baby and my TSH & antibody levels.  My endo basically was in charge of keeping a close eye on my thyroid and I did have a high risk OB who ordered 3 extra growth scans and also kept an eye on the bloodwork that came back from my endo.

  • I have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis. As long as it's being controlled by medication, you're fine. I had my hormones levels checked about every 4-6 weeks last pregnancy.

  • I have both conditions as well. I had 3 miscarriage before I had my daughter. She's 6 now. The pregnancy was not easy. I'm now 5 weeks with this one and they've uped my thyroid meds and I have appointments for blood work every 4 weeks with my endo as well as on appointments every 4 weeks. Hoping for the best. Good luck!
