It's a more unusual name, but I think it sounds nice and you could also spell it a few different ways if you wanted to. Does your baby's father have a special attachment to the name?
As we've been going over names, I've tried to not immediately react to a name, but sit with it for a while and see if it grows on me. If it grows on me, I put it on my list; if not, back to the drawing board.
I'm not sure how to pronounce that- like corn or Corinne? And whose dad? Your father in law, or your SO? If it's your FIL, I would say his opinion doesn't matter!
Corinne is an uncommonly used feminine name. While it's nice to see someone using a traditionally feminine name on a boy for once, it could cause teasing or other issues for him in life, so it is something to consider.
Was your husband trying for Corwin instead? It's a surname, but hardly used as a first name, seeing how only 40 boys were named it last year.
In any case, the y does not make it look masculine, usually y's are substituted when people try to make masculine names more feminine.
See how he likes Corwin, if neither of you like it, keep looking you have plenty of time.
If you hate it, then it's nixed. Back to the drawing board. No one should be asking you to name your child a nane you hate. I do like the Corwin or even Corbin compromise.
Yeah, if you hate it then it's a no-go! I can't say I like it myself, but he's not my child. There must be other names out there that are unique that your SO would like... I can understand your SO not wanting an association with another person who shares the name.
I like the name Elijah over the name Corrin - I think it'd make a decent middle name, such as Elijah Corrin or Elijah Corwin/Corbin. Agree that if it's a name that you hate - it's nixed automatically, you cannot name your son a name that you hate and vice versa for your SO.
My brothers names is Corrigan we call him cogs for short. Never met antha corrigan Eva which is good! Nice not to share ur name with 100 others. My partner n I can't decide on any names we both like So I feel ur pain. Good luck
If you hate it then I would say it's nixed, unless you want to compromise and use it as a middle name. I went to high school with a Coryn (female) but it's not a common name so it could go either way. Good luck.
Well the original way he wants it spell is Corrin I just put the y so it can look masculine I guess..and He just loves the name because it's different n it's no name that any one has..so it basically wants to be different from other people
Really I thought putting the y made it appear masculine..lol cause Corrin seem more girlish..I which if my SO would just like the name I had n be done...the name I had was Elijah
