Bed rest mama's - How do you...

How do you manage to eat? I know it sounds silly, but I've hardly eaten anything this past week because I'm just not hungry. I'm not doing anything so I'm guess my body thinks it doesn't need to eat. Before bed rest, I was eating 5 times a day.

  • Eat smaller portions, it may seem less overwhelming that way (and easier on heartburn). I have vegetable juices on hand too in case I throw nutrition out the window by accident lol. Your body doesn't need as much food as it did before bed rest, so it's okay not to be eating quite as much!

  • Thanks for the ideas. I'm trying to make sure I eat at all. Yesterday for instance was 1 slice of regular toast for breakfast, and then a taco for supper. I had to force myself to eat that. I just made 2 eggo waffles and only ate 1...I just don't know what to do. Hopefully it doesn't affect my LO. I will buy some V8, I bet that will help too!!

  • When I was younger I had to take medicine for adhd that made me not eat and I was like 65 lbs in 7th grade. Extremely unhealthy anywho my dr made me drink pediacure (sp?) I'm not sure if you can drink it while pregnant. It does help give give you nutrition and such that you need. It also makes you feel full. Ask your Dr. about it.
  • They have similac mom shakes .... the chocolate ones are great... I have one for breakfast or lunch... has great nutrition in them :)
  • Hmmm I'm definitely still hungry... Still so much going on inside even though we're resting. I'm more worried about packing on weight now that I'm resting, thankful there are only a few weeks to go
  • Carnation instant breakfast. Not exactly food but it's something. I'm definitely not hungry nor do I feel like I have room for food.

    I also make sure I have small fruits around... Grapes, Berries, whatever. I think the fact that they are bite sized helps. Even if I only eat 4 grapes now and 4 grapes in an hour... It's something.
  • I'll be sure to ask the doc tomorrow about the shakes and stuff! Those are great ideas! I could completely drink one or two a day and feel like I'm still getting nutrition without making myself eat!! See, this is why I ask you ladies! I would've never thought of that!!
