nope, not too early at all. It's basically exercise for your uterus. It's a muscle and is warming up for the big event! It probably shouldn't hurt that badly though, is it uncomfortable or is it really painful?
It could be RLP that is so bad that feels like BH. Tightening in the upper part of the abdomen is usually the difference between the two. There is also a stage where your baby moves out of the pelvic area in the stomach area and that causes "pains" but I dont think you're there yet - its usually around 20 weeks.

It's just reeeeeeaaaaallllly uncomfortable. It's like my uterus is saying, "Excuse me ma'am. This will remind you that I'm still here." It's a pulsing tightening (if that makes any sense).

That sounds about right. It always made me feel like I had to pee!

It could be RLP or it could be BH. It if lasts all day, it's likely RLP.
Not too early and I've already been having them (which is way earlier than with DD but I'm also not as good about water intake this time -- oops). If it gets really bad, talk to your dr. Mine always said to pop a tylenol.

BH start for EVERYONE at 6-8 weeks. Most do not feel them until around 20 weeks or not until 3rd Tri, SOME never feel them at all.
Babycenter has really good info on this.
Not flameable at all.
