Bad Burper!

My LO will not give up burps. I feel like I have tried everything! When we don't get enough burps at feeding he seems to be in pain later from the gas. What has worked for you ladies?

Re: Bad Burper!

  • The Dr.Brown bottles works great for my daughter it reduces the gas when drinking. She only burps twice and she's fine after that.

  • My MIL is the most annoying person ever lol but I will give her credit for a trick she showed me to help my LOs burp. You put your pointer & middle fingers on either side of baby's spine, starting at the bottom/waist. Push in slightly and run them up their spine to their shoulders. Then rub on their backs a bit and ta da! Note - they don't like this so I don't do it all the time but it generally gets the job done when necessary and helps avoid substantial gas pain later.
  • Balance baby on your knee, holding under the chin and back of the head and rotate them in a circular motion 6 or 7 times every now and again in between winding. It seems to dislodge the wind and works!
  • Thank you!
  • I have the hardest time burping my little girl ALL THE TIME. What my husband and I found that works is his hard chest and to tilt her butt out, away from him, so that there is some pressure on her stomach, and rubbing upwards from butt to head to release the burps, with some patting. I know hubby can't always be there, so I started to move her up on my shoulder higher so her tummy was against my shoulder for the pressure and rubbing/patting at the same time. Or holding her face in my hand for neck support and laying her against my forearm. Good luck!
