Earlier Gender Reveal Ultrasounds

I've seen that lots of women could see what they were having as early as 13 weeks & I would like to know since I've hit 13 as of Tuesday. Problem is with my insurance I only get 2 ultrasounds & the next isn't until 20 weeks! & ultrasound clinics where I am located start at 16 weeks. Will I just have to wait or are there other ways around this ?

Either they had bloodwork that revealed the sex via chromosomes, or the sonographer took a guess.

Learn patience. You're going to need it.

The tech either guessing the sex (gender will not be know until the child is an adult and figures out their personality and sexuality), or they had blood work that shows the genetic information of the child.

I had my elective scan at 18w2d, that's a good time to have it, baby is bigger, fully developed, still not much fat, but the baby's genitals would be clearly visible at 18w !

What's 2 more weeks (give or take when the AS is scheduled)?? Insurance will cover it for her and it's less exposure to baby. It's called being patient.

I know how exciting it is to find out the gender, but really it is only 2 weeks until you get another U/S to find the gender and I am sure it will be just as exciting as having an elective. When I had my first, my friend owned a boutique ultrasound place so I got it done for free at 16 weeks, but if I was that close to my gender u/s I would wait, seriously.

I and 12 weeks and have had a few ultrasounds but we found out the gender already with a blood test when we did our first trimester screening. Was so excited to find out this early. Test and ultrasound were only $89 with insurance.

I went to an independent place at 14 weeks. It wasn't only to find out the sex but we have had 3 losses and I needed to be in a non medical place and have time to just look at my baby. So that is another reason to go there. No, not medical professionals but definitely research and make sure the sonographer has had loads of experience. I know people have been told wrong. We weren't. It took an hour and it became obvious. Decide what you like! Patience is important and pretty much what pregnancy is. But again, we did it and will go back again to just spend some time looking at the babe.

Nope, they don't tell us during our anatomy scans what the sex is.. The doctors aren't aloud to in Nova Scotia ! If we choose to find out we pay for it (: !
I'm also from Canada Nova Scotia and we don't pay anything for our medical here !

Nope, They don't tell us the sex during our anatomy scans, the doctors in Nova Scotia are NOT aloud to tell us the baby's sex. If we choose to find out we must pay for it. I'm also in Canada Nova Scotia and all of our medical is free.

Well yes through taxes, but what I was getting to was we don't pay out of pocket for any procedures and we don't pay for insurance or have to worry about it running out. And all of the "natives" don't pay taxes here so technically theirs would be completely free.

You are 100% wrong about Aboriginals and taxes. The only time some people don't pay as much income tax is if they are status and work on status land. Status and don't work on the reserve - income tax. Work on reserve and not status - income tax. Even tax exemptions at the store are only applicable to the PST - because reserves are federal land, not provincial jurisdiction.

There's so many more specifics that I'm not going to get into. Long story short - Aboriginals do pay taxes.

You shouldn't talk about things you don't know about if all you are going to do is spout ignorance and spread misinformation.

I received an early ultrasound from a boutique as a gift. I went at 15 weeks and I was told girl. I knew that was pretty early and decided to wait until my anatomy scan to confirm before announcing. I know it's hard but just enjoy the many milestones and be patient.

Well where your at is different then here ! My aunt is married to a native and him and his whole family don't pay any taxes whatso ever ! He has a status card, and when he bought the new house and bought the furniture all of it was tax free !
