First u/s?

How high does your hcg have to be In order to actually see anything in an ultrasound

Re: First u/s?

  • No idea about hcg, but I have seen a blurry dot at 5 weeks before. This time we actually saw feet and arm paddles at 6.5 weeks, but that's because it was a fabulous ultrasound machine. If you want to really see the baby shape that's around 9 weeks.

  • All we saw was a black circle. Thought I might be 8 weeks, but probably more like 4-6 weeks. (Waiting for the OBGYN's assessment - just had a technician do the U/S.) I thought I might be able to see more and that I'd get a picture, but nope. Might have to go back for another one next week.
  • I just had to click on your name LaLaLaurie bc I am also a Laurie and everyone calls me LaLa! ❤️
  • I didn't get a picture either and I'm waiting on my ob to call back with the heartbeat and how far along they think I am, I could barely even see the screen when she did it so I was a little disappointed

  • I've always heard that you have to be at least 5 weeks for anything to show up on an u/s and usually it has to be a vaginal u/s. I know you usually can't hear or see baby's heartbeat until 7 weeks or so.

How do you pronounce it? Lori or Lah-rie? I'm a Lah-rie but everybody says it like Lori. I've even been called Larry before! lol
  • I got my first ultrasound at what I thought was 8 weeks. I was a tally measuring 8 weeks 5 days. We just saw a a blob, but the blobs hands were moving! :) the tech switch to 3D view and we got to see the baby so man clearer. Saw the head, arms, body, and legs.
