Wondering what I should bring to the hospital for our baby girl when she's born. Anything she'll need while in the hospital? Also, looking for some recommendations on what to pack to bring her home. Thank you!
Check Pinterest and they have a lot of ideas. The hospital should have a list of what they do and do not supply. I have probably overpacked, but I'd rather have what I may want available to me. Here is what I've packed:
Me: 2 gowns, 1 robe, 2 pairs of socks, 1 pair of slippers, loose fitting pants and a tank top to go home in, toiletries, nursing bra, BF stuff (balm, gel pads, etc.), phone charger, headphones, and colace
Baby: 2 NB outfits (onesies, hat, socks), 1 outfit for 0-3 months in case she's bigger, 1 outfit for the hospital photos, 2 blankets, 2 diapers
You don't need to pack baby anything other then going home clothes for the baby. Hospitals have diapers, they will dress the baby in a onesie and swaddles. You don't need breast feeding stuff like a pp said because, well in a hospital they have pads, balms, etc. There are alot of threads on here what to pack , but honestly, most people go crazy and pack a bunch of $hit they don't need. I hate over packing. I'm only bringing 1. Snacks for hubby 2. Going home clothes for me 3. Going home clothes for baby 4. Extra clothing for hubby. 5. Tooth brush/paste for me and hubby 6. A bath towel (the ones in the hospital are almost always too small and thin) Everything else is useless unless you really care about a specific brand of shampoo/conditioner.... I personally could care less and use what's in the hospital
Ask your hospital or doctor what they provide or require.
For example mine asks specifically that you bring two outfits for baby. And they suggest that you bring snacks. Some hospitals have restrictions on what food you are allowed to eat during labor, luckily mine doesn't. So, their list was a jumping off point for me.
