My ex-husband is the only one who would've been there with me. My sister lives in Hawaii and we are separated from the rest of my family. Kinda bummed to be having my baby alone. Anyone else in the same boat?
I won't be completely alone, I will have my mom there. But that's it. I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're going at it alone. Do you have a good friend who would be willing to come be with you? I don't know you, but if you were local I would come with you! No one should have to labor alone. I hope someone is able to be there. Maybe ask a close friend, it may not have occurred to them that you would need them
My heart goes out to you as well. I had an emergency c-section alone and that was zero fun. Everyone was was super kind to me and we had a good result but I would not want to repeat that experience. I am with PP, can you ask a friend? I have been at a number of friend's deliveries (either taking photos/video or just to help support) and I consider it such an honor to be there. Even if your friend says no, it won't offend them, and who knows? You might not be alone. Best wishes and keep is posted!
Is it too late to get a doula? I hear they are an amazing support system before and during ( even though having someone you are close to is always better)
If I were in your shoes - or anyone who is in that situation - I would totally hire a doula to be there with me. Ours has become like family now. Best wishes momma.
