Insane hair growth and shaving

So my hair EVERYWHERE is growing like crazy and I can hardly keep up with it. I'm going kn a very large family vacation to the beach next week. I have to shave pretty much everyday so there is no hair down there for a swim suit but then with shaving that much I get little red numbs which is just as bad. Anyone have any advice or how they are dealing with thia? Is waxing safe during pregnancy?

I'm growing hair, I never really had to shave before But my legs are definitely growing hair. I read that excessive hair growth is a sign of a boy

I would honestly just wear some short spandex or something over the swim suit because shaving your legs every day is a lot easier than shaving your private area. I get the same red bumps, there's no way I can shave down there every day.
  • Samesies on the red bumps. I can't shave down there at ALL even when I'm not pregnant.
I wear cute boy short swim suits or ones with a little skirt (they're not just for old ladies anymore! :P )
I also got an ADORABLE one-piece that has two layers- one that fits like a normal swim suit and one that's like a sheath so it's fashionably scrunchy and can be pulled down over unsightly hairs.
But I second @cjd&k if you don't want to bother buying a new swim suit, wear some spandex or even some cute cutoff Jean shorts that you don't care too much about abusing and wear those at least until you're ready to hit the water, where no one will be seeing you below the waist anyway.

Same!!!! I can't keep up with the shaving. So glad I'm not the only one. I shave my armpits every morning and have 5 o'clock shadow way before its time. So embarrassing. It's very hard with the irritation.. Good luck with the struggle ladies!

Why don't you just trim it? I have the waterproof sheek hydro shaver/trimmer and the trimmer works great for that. I can get it pretty close without it getting to be annoying..... hope this helps.
  • OMG ITS FREAKING EVERYWHERE.  I feel your pain.
  • Agreed. My underarms and legs are like mini-forests! Waxing is totally safe but I've been avoiding it, because they say it hurts way more when you are pregnant.

Wow, I am so happy I did laser! Tho, stuff is starting to come in on my face a bit...
  • I am so glad you posted this. I have PCOS to begin with so I am used to hair growth but holy cow- this is ridiculous. I literally shave in the morning and my legs are prickly by evening. I wax my lip and see a shadow in 3 days. Am I going to grow a beard next?!?!?

The only advise I have is to shave with coconut oil. It soothes the skin, won't clog pores, and it's natural!

I have very dark hair so that's why I have never tried just trimming being worried you'd still see little speckles lol
  • Yaaaaassss! It is awful! I have a line of hair on my stomach and my armpits are awful!
Even worse, today DH says "in this light I can see a little beard growing under your chin". Nooooo!
I think waxing will be the next step over here.
  • Omg yes! I lasered my underarms and now hair is growing there too! Everyday! My husband is noticing it on my stomach... I'm so embarrassed! I can't keep up. Never had this problem before
  • Has anyone had problems with ingrown hairs/boils? I have one on my bikini line right now and it is soooo uncomfortable!!!
  • @cbsoriano@yahoo.com If it's an ingrown hair, I usually just extract it myself with some tweezers and ispropyl alcohol. But if it's a boil, that definitely needs to be seen by a doctor, you don't want to let that fester.

I've always been a little on the fuzzy side (I blame my Eastern European roots), but this has gotten out of control. Whereas I used to have like two or three obvious hairs below my navel that I would pluck from time to time, it's become a little "happy trail". Disgusting. My arm hair is so much more obvious now, and even the peach fuzz I have on my body is darker. I don't think there's ever been a time I've felt less attractive between the hair growth, the 14 week "bump" I have that doesn't look explicitly pregnant yet, I just look like I let myself go, and the constant hot and sweaty feeling. How is this not even halfway through? (sorry for the dramatic FTM rant, I just don't feel pretty.)
  • I'm sure we all feel the same way...I can't remember the last time I even put on makeup or did anything with myself because whatever I do won't make me feel even a little bit pretty
  • Lavender essential oils help relieve the bumps and inflammation! I feel like a chia pet with how much it's growing down there! I've been trimming as often as I think about it, but a nice boy short or wide bottom helps to cover where you may have missed! I want to wax but also heard it hurts and my biz seems tender these days...
  • Same here!!!!shave My underarms every day and I have blonde hair and now dark hair is growing on my legs! I can't keep up with it . Also my nails are growing super fast as well.

I feel the same and was on the fuzzy side before but I agree- this is a whole new level. Even my eyebrow hair is growing faster!
  • I can't wait for fall/winter. I'll be shaving only for OB appointments and delivery. Sorry DH, I'll need a heads up if you want to get some. image
  • Are Nair products safe to use down there and during pregnancy

I used it before, not pregnant, and it gave me chemical burns. I wouldn't personally recommend it.

My happy trail is out of control. I believe I have more hair on my stomach than my DH.
  • Agree with PP, I look like an ancestor of Chewbacca. Someone told me shaving my stomach hairs will only make them come back darker and more coarse!
  • I wish someone would have warned me about how hairy I would be. I'm pretty sure some of my leg hairs are now razor resistant.
