Over the last week my blood pressure will drop from its pregnancy normal of 110/70 to 85/55. I have passed out on multiple occasions but usually have to just race to the ground so I don't hurt myself, baby or family. I called my OB earlier this week and he was out of the office but sent me to the ER. I went and they said "strange things happen with pregnancy" and "we can see that something is happening but we can't say what is causing it or how to help". I was not sent to L&D for eval by an OB/GYN but was evaluated by the ER doc. But now, its continually getting worse. This is happening 3-4 times daily. Has anyone had this and "outgrown" it as their pregnancy progresses? I know that BP is typically lowest at this point in pregnancy (I'm 22 weeks) but I can't imagine living like this for the next 5 months! I'm not looking for a diagnosis just some hope.
Re: Dropping blood pressure
My mom's dropped and she felt like crap and would black out. Sodium was her answer. She would suck on pretzels, nuts and popcorn. It brought her B/P to a level she was comfortable with.
