Re: Costco diapers

  • I used them for awhile but I found that they leaked a lot. They fit very similar to Huggies diapers, so if Huggies work well for your LO then the Costco ones probably will too.

I eventually switched to Target brand and those have been great! My little guys has pretty lean thighs, so fit has always been a struggle for us with diapers.

  • I haven't tried them personally but have heard good things. What works for one baby will not work at all for another so you just have to go with trial and error. Our twins were preemies and in the beginning we used pampers swaddlers I believe and then switched to target brand and they've worked well for us.
  • We love Costco wipes!

  • Years ago on the Bump there was a member that worked for a manufacturing plant and mentioned that the Costco wipes and diapers are actually the exact same thing as another major brand. On certain days a week they would package the off brand, but they were made with the same materials as the name brand, just with different prints. I don't know how true it is, but with my experience, I am inclined to believe that there is some truth to it. The Costco brand as well as the name brand never fit my kids well, so we went with Pampers, but the wipes were great!

I also found that the target brand diapers were very similar in texture and fit to the Walgreens and CVS brands. If you keep an eye out for sales, these brands can be really good deals. On more than one occasion I have seen them on sale and then buy one get one free on top of that, making them less than $4 per small pack--30ish diapers.
  • we had to switch between brands depending on my sons growth. He would do really good in one brand and then hit a growth spurt and start leaking so we'd have to switch. We never had good luck with LUVS, they always seemed to leak. We really liked Target brand.
  • We don't have a Costco membership, but the ILs do, and they've bought us a few boxes of diapers here and there. I like the Costco ones. We usually get Huggies, so if those fit your LO, Costco would, too.

DS has thick thighs, so Pampers don't work well for him.

BJ's makes good wipes, too, though I haven't tried their diapers. Also Wal-Mart's brand of wipes are pretty good too.

  • I can't rave enough about Amazon Mom. You get 20% off diapers and 15% off wipes. I buy pampers swaddlers through size two because I like the wetness indicator. Then I switch to Luvs. There are often coupons making them even cheaper. The $99 prime membership comes with so many benefits that it's well worth it to our family. We use the streaming tv part all the time rather than netflix. Plus there's something to be said for diapers just showing up monthly on my doorstep.

I have yet to buy diapers on Amazon (though with 2 I might start)! But I love that when you order things through prime, you can get credit towards renting movies. When I don't need something right away (especially stuff for the new baby), I just do no-rush shipping. Then I don't have any guilt letting DS rent movies on there!

  • I work in an infant classroom (6weeks-18 months) in a childcare center, so I have seen many brands of diapers and wipes on many kinds of thighs and hineys! I must say Costco brand diapers and wipes are some of my absolute favorite! Hubby and I plan to use Costco for our little guy for sure
  • Costco wipes (Kirkland brand) are THE best! I've tried so many brands and these are hands down the best I think because they are large, never dried out and glide smooth across baby skin ( other brands seem to grab). I've been buying Huggies from Costco, now you all have me curious to try Costco brand.
  • I am a little nutty about my diapers and only use Honest/Earths Best/Bambo, but I love love love the Kirkland wipes and pretty much only use those
  • I used pampers swaddlers to size 1, then switched to huggies snug and dry, we always got them at Costco. But I think the Amazon discount is actually a better deal. Luvs always leaked for me with the girls, and I'm sure things will be completely different with my boy. But I have never tried a Costco brand diaper.
