Symptomatic at night...fine in the morning...?

I find myself to be very symptomatic At night! Having really strong Braxton Hicks contractions to where I can hardly stand up and I'm holding onto the counters in my house and as the afternoon and evening progress. Then in the morning I'm fine… Gets my hopes up thinking one of these nights he's going to come! Anyone else experiencing this? (37&half weeks)

Re: Symptomatic at night...fine in the morning...?

  • Yes!! This is EXACTLY how I've been all week. I'm 38.5 and it is so annoying. I dread laying down for bed every night because I'm in so much pain. the best sleep I get is from 5am to 10 am.

  • Yes! I could have written this myself. Nearly 38 weeks. I've been told it's because it's more likely the time when are bodies are relaxing so a good time for baby to start playing around! Not long now ☺
  • I still haven't truly experienced a BH or practice contraction (though I know I've been having them from some monitoring) but I'll be very symptomatic at night in other ways thinking the onset of labor may be happening like getting nauseated or more crampy in general and in the morning it's fine again. I had this conversation with my husband the other day actually and asked "why is everything worse at night?" Then you think of when you've had a cold or the flu in the past and it always seems to be the worst at night also. Not sure why, but it just is! I'm 38 weeks today.
  • Same here. I think by the end of the day your body can finally "let loose" and that's when the action starts to happen. After some rest and rejuvenation we feel better the next day.
  • I blame my 4 year old for this phenomenon. I thought it's because when I get him from daycare I'm more active, getting up and down and tending to him that my body gets tense and tired that bring on false labor pains. *shoulder shrug* Either way, baby ain't here yet. Baby needs to arrive now! I'm finding it hard to keep my pregnant cool under these conditions!

Thanks ladies! Seems like I am not alone...must be normal! LOL babydoll1008 I said my boy was going to get a spanking & be grounded too!! Just kidding
  • Oh yes been getting this since 37 weeks I'm now 41 weeks I saw my midwife today and said to her I thought this baby would be here by now x
  • I have been noticing the same these past few days. I feel fine during the day then as early evening approaches I feel dodgy, slightly sick, upset tummy and exhausted. By 6, 7pm I could happily go to bed, but I refrain till about 10pm then BAM wide awake and heart burn for the rest of the night. Sobs x
