I'm almost 17 weeks now (with twins )and just when I thought oh yippee!! I can eat again! My new symptom is headaches.... I had one for 2 1/2 days! What do you all do for your pregnancy headaches?!

Re: Headaches!

  • When it hits that migraine status. Or I'm just pissy and can't take it anymore, last pregnancy (also twins) I had more than one migraine. Ugh. My doctor recommended a half a can of coke, a Benedryl or two and a nap. I'd wake up feeling muuuuch better and then finish the rest of the coke. Worked like a charm.
For regular headaches, because luckily I haven't had a migraine this round with a singleton, I will take one Tylenol and a cup of very strong black tea or a half a can of doctor pepper or coke.
Hope you get some relief. It's miserable.

  • If you are in an area where they grow tobacco like I am, they are spraying a sucker control chemical that causes me to have severe headaches.... Could be environmental...
  • Since we can only take Tylenol, which doesn't always do the trick, I watch my sugar intake.  Sometimes when I start eating unhealthy, itll trigger my headaches and keep them around.  I also try to rest in a dark room.
  • I get regular headaches and when this happens i go and see my chiropractor and it works. Just realigning everything takes care of my headaches and back aches. I don't like taking any meds since i'm already on blood thinners.

If you haven't seen a chiropractor make sure to do your research and find out if they are certified in prenatal care. I already have a belly so to adjust my lower back and hips i'm propped up on pillows and wedges.

It's wonderful - highly recommend being adjusted vs taking tylenol

This! I've been craving sugary things and when I indulge I end up with a headache. It's a nasty cycle. So, I'm trying to avoid to sugar to cut out the headaches. Maybe see if you notice any patterns that could indicate a correlation with your diet like too much sugar, not enough water, lack of caffiene...all of those things have been mentioned as triggers in my reading.
  • There's been about 5 posts on this this week, scroll through and you should be able to find lots of recommendations ;) Lots of us are getting headaches, it's super common and torture!
  • I noticed that I get headaches when I switch up my shampoo. Have you done something like that lately?

I had a headache yesterday then once my cousin asked how much fluid intake I had, my husband quickly said two glasses of milk and a little water. So, we thought I was just dehydrated. Cousin got me a bottle of water then my dad gave me 1 extra strength Tylenol, I ate supper with some Mtn Dew then within about 10 mins of the Tylenol, eating and half s bottle of Mtn Dew, my headache went from (on a scale of 1-10) a 7 to less than a 1. Could still feel it slightly but not nearly as bad.
I also haven't had any morning sickness (knock on wood) yet. Felt like I was going to get sick yesterday but never did.
  • That happened to me about that time too. Ugh. I took tylonel.
  • Also Preggo with twins and having headaches. Usually sleeping is the only thing that really does the trick for me
  • I have headaches everyday through this pregnancy. My dr prescribed a tylenol with caffeine type pill. Seems to be working.
