Sweaty baby in car seat

Anyone have any good tips for keeping LO cool in the car seat? I lIve in Oklahoma and it's already pushing 100° in the afternoons. The other day we were leaving Target and the short 5-ish mile drive made my baby super sweaty and hot and he was miserable!

Re: Sweaty baby in car seat

  • I've heard good reviews of infant bucket car seat liners on Amazon. We don't have one but are considering buying one before a road trip with our baby to keep him cool and comfy.

  • Put a blanket on the car seat before putting the baby in I do it with the swing as well and the baby falls right asleep and does sweat.
  • I bought portable car seat fans for my twins from BRU. About $20 and they did a good job. I think the sound helps soothe them, too. My only concern was I didn't want all the extra dry air to congest them but we've been using them about a week and haven't had any issues yet. They clip on to almost anything - had to use them on the pack n play at my MIL's house the other day because she keeps it at like 88 degrees lol.

I've been thinking about getting one of those! It's too dang hot in Florida literally all the time. I'm glad to hear they work, I need to go get one!
  • My daughter was having the same problem so I bought a Meeno Baby car seat liner and she's been great ever since. The mesh is breatheable and wicks away moisture. Got it from BuyBuy Baby but I'm sure they're elsewhere too!
