Anyone else started "naturally inducing" at 37w, then ppl making you feel guilty?

I'm a FTM, 37w 1d, and I barely started walking today.. Walked 1mi. & did some nipple stimulation then stopped after 5 minutes. I've had a smooth pregnancy, it's just my body has gotten the best of me. I have herniated disks in my lower back... So my back pain is ridiculous. (Poor excuse but big to me) I thought to myself that since baby is "full term" It wouldn't be the worst thing to try and naturally get things going. But i have a couple moms who are telling me to let baby cook because of last minute development!! (Which is important I know)
Any one else trying, or do you agree to not start anything ?

Dont feel bad just realize ppl will judge u for trying...i tell ppl the truth, its my baby, my body and i will do to it what i please...with that being said im 38 weeks on Friday and have tried EVERYTHING...by everything i mean everything natural that wont harm the baby...i drink 3 cups of red raspberry leaf tea a day, EPO, eat 6 dates (disgusting), at least a half of a pineapple fresh, i had been shoving fresh garlic down my thoart but i gave that up due to gag reflex lol, sex daily, walking, yoga ball and we had an electrical storm that knocked our electricity out for 2 days...it was 95 degrees n our house...and even with all that this baby is still not here! My DH tried to force me to stay n a hotel i was like nooo i gotta get this baby out! I have now given up...i can smell defeat lol..he will come when his ready CLEARLY! Lol

I am 37w 4d and I have started to naturally get things going. Your baby is technically fully developed at this point. But insurance just has changed to 39wk because of whatever reasons. I have not dilated at all and this is my 3rd...so last Tuesday I asked my doc what could I do to get the ball rolling...she said sex, nipple stimulating, walking, even evening primrose oil pills to soften my cervix. So I trust my doc would not tell me wrong and as for ppl judgment idc at all....my doc knows what's best for baby..not the know it alls...I was induced with my 1st 2 at 37wks..that was b4 insurance changed it up. But Goodluck mama...we only got a lil longer!!! ;)

  • The more active you are the easier delivery will be. I say start now cause it won't hurt anything if it does trigger labor, and will just make things easier whenever that time comes anyway.
  • I'm 37 weeks and just started trying all the usual stuff....my midwife also did a stretch and sweep yesterday. My first baby was 9lbs and full term. This one is a boy and I'm scared that if he is full term he will be 13 lbs lol...I'm also measuring 42 weeks....I will be happy when he decides to make his appearance
  • Holy moly ! I didn't expect to receive all these messages stating pretty much the same thing !! I knew in the back of my head that obviously, I won't go into labor unless my body is ready for it !! So silly to feel guilty of "natural remedies" and natural I mean natural !! Walking, sex, tea, nipple stimulation etc. I just really melted down when I was told "why aren't you letting the baby cook" and then I immediately stopped what I was doing (walking) and thought maybe I should keep it cool !! Ugh thanks mommas! I really needed that (of course my harmones are getting the best of me) lol I am now 38+1 and I know if I have to go the full 41 (is all they'll allow me) I will ! But like you ladies said it's nice to keep occupied in feeling like we're doing something !! And umm yes learned it the hard way to just keep my pregnancy to my husband and doctor !!! Silly me !!!
