Trouble TTC

New and from Pregnancy Buzz

Hello, newbie here. I was using the bump's "Pregnancy Buzz" app, which is no longer around. There was a community of TTTCers on there. Since that app bit the dust, I moved over here.

My husband and I have been trying for 1.5 years to get pregnant. I have PCOS and have only ovulated on my own with the help of medication. I normally have 50-60 day cycles which I recently learned can lead to uterine cancer.

I moved across a few states at the end of last year due to a job transfer. I had fertility treatments lined up but decided to hold off until after the move....so that put us behind for 6 months. I had some hang ups getting my insurance transferred over and then had to wait to see an RE. I finally got in for some additional blood tests and will hopefully get back on track with my treatment plan once the results get in!

I've had a family member make jokes about my infertility and tell me not to use medications. She has PCOS but got pregnant on her first try and thinks she is God of all ovaries now. This is an inlaw, and my Inlaws are drama llamas. It doesn't help I'm married to the only son/brother who is the golden boy of the family.

I am glad to have found this community, you guys get it.

  • Welcome @CopperLane!   Things tend to be a bit slower in the summer around here, but there are still some awesome women on here who give and receive support.    That really sucks that your in law has deemed herself the fertility goddess... and making jokes about infertility is beyond the pale!   That HAS to be the most annoying situation ever, and I don't know how you keep from exploding on her.

We definitely get it.   FX that your insurance covers everything and good luck on your blood tests!

  • Welcome and good luck with your journey. I really hope your insurance covers the treatments. It really is unfortunate that you have to deal with that from in laws.  Whats even worse is she has PCOS also, so there should be some understanding on her part (even though she got pregnant on her first try).  Every one is different as well as their medical issue.  Some people fortunately get pregnant on their first try or their first treatment others it takes longer.  Hopefully you will move on to a BMB soon :)
