3rd Trimester

Skin irritation...red itchy bumps

Throughout my entire pregnancy I've had the feeling of being bitten by bugs. I actually have what looks like raised red bug bites that itch like crazy and turn into long scratch mark welts. Ive researched and researched and truly believed I had bed bugs. Well, there is no sign of bed bugs and my fiance has never been bitten sleeping next to me. I've called exterminators, they tell me its my hormones, I went to my regular physician, he told me its my hormones and maybe a fungal reaction so he gave me a tiny tube of cream that makes it not itch temporarily but the bite marks are still there and I'm itchy in other areas. I talked to my OBGYN and she swears its my hormones. OK I get it, I'm not getting bit. But that still doesnt take away from the fact that I feel like I am. How do I stop the itching? Also, I have my maternity shoot in a few days and don't want red bumps and scratches all over me. Anyone else going through this and any advice?

Thanks in advance :)

  • Maybe try taking a bath with Epsom salt and see if that helps or maybe get a lotion like Aveno. Otherwise maybe you're allergic to something cause it sound like you have hives or something cause when I get hives they itch like crazy.

  • I think oatmeal bathe helps. Apply aloe vera gel after shower and wear soft cotton clothes.
