Post partum pre eclampsia

im 2 weeks PP and been extremely swollen. I can't flush the fluid out and the more I drink, the more weight I gain. Yesterday I had a SEVERE headache that nothing would touch. I take fioricet for migraines. And that did nothing.. Not even dulled it. And ibuprofen did nothing.. From 8am to 4pm when it just up and went away. I have upper gastric pain so bad I can't breath, and my face ballooned this morning, I'm heading to the hospital as the on call doctor highly recommended. She said they will most likely admit me.. I'm having a hard enough time leaving my baby for a few hours, but I'm a basket case thinking about having to be away from her over night.. God forbid a couple days... My mom said she will bring her up as soon as they admit me (in the event that they don't then I'll just come home) and she says she will have her there first thing in the morning... I still can't handle it. I haven't been away from her but a few mins at a time since birth, she stayed with me in the room at the hospital. I'm freaking out about being away from her!
And then being on magnesium makes me angry.
Please pray that I don't have to go this route... I can't be away from my baby!!!

    This just happened to my cousin..glad you are going to the hospital. She lost 35 lbs of fluid in 2 days

    Thank you. It's got a funny ending and all worked out so I can't be mad.. Not happy about then Bp meds.. They make me tired. But it's alright.

    Glad you're ok! It's funny how your main concern was leaving your baby. Look at those mommy instincts kicking in! And I would be the same way. The thought of leaving my baby is enough to bring me to tears, so add your pain to that, I can only imagine what you were going through! Glad you're ok! Now get your poop on! :D

    It is funny. I didn't want to go because I didn't want to be away from her.. My mom suggested I just call the doctor, and when I did she started asking me if I was home alone. If anyone could drive me. Told me I needed to get in to the hospital right away.. I was like.. Well I leave her for a short time or I stay here and risk something being horribly wrong and end up leaving her forever (worst case scenario)

    But alls well. I have a doc app with my OB for the blood pressure. And they gave me magnesium citrate... So I been getting my poop on since last night... Ugh! Lol belly pain is much better though!

    I'm having horrible pain as well. From reading your post, I'm thinking constipation is the cause as well. Haven't had a bowel movement since I went into labor. So uncomfortable.

    @zmombie I'm glad it all worked out for you. I've had to take it easy myself. My blood pressure is slightly elevated, and my stitches are getting kinda sore and my bleeding has increased a little so I'm taking it easy before I end up in the hospital away from my little one!

    I went to hospital 9 days pp w/ my last for observation for what they thought was pp pre-e. I had BP readings of 160/110 but none of the symptoms you have. They kept me there 2 days, but doc on fllor didn't know why OB-GYn had me go to get admitted. In any case, BP was managed and my daughter was able to be there w/ me. Good luck.

    They sell magnesium citrate at grocery stores I believe.. But only drink half and check with your doctor first to be are you can have it... I don't see why you couldn't but just in case.

    @mommy1922 you may want to check with your doctor and see if you have placenta left over.. But I had an increase in bleeding as well but it went away

    I called my doctor after and told her what they said and did and she made an app for me to come in in a few days the hospital affiliated with my doctors office is an amazing hospital! They actually do there job.. But it's over an hour away. The one close to me is like a chop shop... :/ but the Bp meds are working and the doctor I saw was good and thorough so I got lucky.

    My sister told me to get the MC but they were out of it so I got the milk of magnesia. It helped and I slept so good last night. Lol

    I talked to my obgyn's nurse and she told me it was probably the Tylenol 3 that was causing my constipation which had me wondering why I wasn't told that it could happen. Ah well

    Oh yea, pain meds can cause constipation. You can also take a stool softener. Or eat 3 prunes a day. Milk of magnesia... I forgot about that!


    And thank you! I'm trying. Bp meds suck.. It's still high, heart rates low. I'm frustrated. But it will all go away soon.
