  Oh I see your other post. I am so sorry you got this news. I hope your husbands test come back with CF. I believe you both need to be carriers in order to pass on the gene.

  Just commenting on an above reply, but while your children will not be affected with cystic fibrosis unless your husband is also a carrier and your child receives the CF gene from both parents, you can still PASS ON the gene to your offspring.
  
  Meaning, even if your husband isn't a carrier and your children never get cystic fibrosis, they can still receive your CF gene copy, and be "silent carriers", just like you are.  Which is something important for them to know when they grow up and have children of their own.
  
  Actually though, it is quite common to be a carrier of CF.  1 in 25 people in the population carry a recessive copy, especially certain ethnic backgrounds (northern europe, etc).  Even if two people who carry a recessive copy of CF have a child, there is only a 25% chance the child will develop the disease, because you need two copies to be affected.
  
  I am sorry for the news after you have been through so much.  I hope your husbands results come back all clear!
