sleeping on side is getting old due to excruciating hip pain...laying down at all period is difficult because I feel short of breath, winded, elevated pulse, and terrible heartburn. How do you sleep comfortably??
I'm not sleeping at all unless I take diphenhydramine (50mg, ok'd by my dr). I still find myself sleeping partially on my stomach but also crooked, almost on my side. I can't sleep completely on my side due to terrible hip pain, as well. Am 17 weeks, and barely showing.
I'm 22 weeks and still partially on stomach and side but I think more stomach. So uncomfortable. Going to start using snoogle to see if that helps it's just so big and takes up a lot of room on bed with2 dogs and hubby! But may help me stay on side more. I wake up almost every night between 3-4am wide awake and can't fall back asleep for an hour or more. It stinks! My coworkers say just get used to it when baby comes so maybe I really should...
Only 14 weeks but can easily fall asleep if I don't have heartburn. If I have heart burn I drink a glass of milk. Sleep on my side with a pillow under the top leg seems to be comfortable im worried about squishing the twins (lol) Wake up around 4am every morning due to cat meowing at me and go back to sleep but half asleep half awake and have strange dreams about my pregnancy
24 weeks and am having the hardest time sleeping. My hips and back hurt so much, I just toss and turn all night! The days I don't work I grab little naps, otherwise I'd be in total zombie mode.
@christina4436 me too, same schedule every night! Ugh. Then last night after I finally fell back asleep, I dreamed I had a litter of really tiny puppies instead of a baby, and flushed them down the toilet. Pregnancy brain/sleep is SO WEIRD.
I started using a body pillow a couple weeks ago even though I'm not far along, it's amazing. I cannot fall asleep without my legs wrapped around it and the top holding my engorged boobs in place.

I'm 14-5 and some nights I sleep on (minus the need to pee 5 times a night and having to flip sides constantly) but occasionally I will wake up at 2:30 or 3 and not be able to get back to sleep until my hubby leaves for work (about 5:45).
And yes, hip pain!!!!! My hips kill me!!!! And if I'm on my belly, my back hurts! I have a body pillow and that helps some! I have a feeling I'm going to be huge by the end of 8 months! This will be a long pregnancy
I bought the wrap around body pillow and it's the only way I can sleep. Even with it I toss and turn because I'm a back sleeper so my hips hurt. I get headaches constantly so that makes it difficult to sleep period. But the pillow has made be world of difference for my hips and legs. I highly recommend it.
Yeah I invested in a regular body pillow that I've been using since 17 weeks...27 weeks now. Guess we are all just screwed for now huh..lol. When I am propped up with pillows I breathe easier...but it's hard to fall asleep when you're sitting erect you know? Ah well!
I am 21 weeks and getting up 1-2 times /night to pee - obnoxious since I take forever to fall back asleep, even pre pregnancy. I fell like I am almost at a 45 deg. Angle when I sleep somewhat on my side and back...pillows jammed wherever. I have had ridic. Back pain but went to a chiropractor for the first time in my life weds... o.m.g. heaven. Maybe that can help hips too?!
I wake up 4-5 times every night to pee, i can't sleep without taking my half tab of benadryl, and I am still trying to get used to sleeping on my side instead of my stomach. There is little to no sleep. But I just ordered a snoogle mini, so we'll see if it helps at all.
I am trying to get as much sleep as possible of course knowing it will not be possible after the birth of my little munchkin.... But... At 19 weeks, 5 days, I can only get quality sleep with a thick pile of soft blankets under me, me on top curled up with my snoogle on the side, one arm under my belly for support. Of course I have to switch sides and get up to pee all the time... If I get a nap in during the day, it makes my day... Thankful for a long weekend!

I hate sleeping on my side I am a back-sleeper but it's starting to get crampy when i do that. I feel like i'm about to start my period when i lie on my back for too long.
I try to sleep directly on my u shaped snoogle. I still toss and turn and flop like a fish though. I also have a long body pillow too... it is ridiculous having to use 2 body pillows, but I still wake up slightly achy. Hopefully I will figure this out and get back to you ladies. I have a foam roller that helps with back pain and cracking my back. A lacrosse ball helps too. You put it between your back and a wall and lean against it and bend your knees up and down so you can get it to roll and Crack your back. It helps a ton when you have trouble with a stiff back or back pain.
I have been talking half a unisom at night to help me sleep with a 50 mg B6 vitamin for nausea. My OB said it's fine and it really helps me sleep and fall back asleep after getting up to pee like 4 times a night!

Best advice I can give you is to go crazy with pillows, in between your knees, behind your back, find what works for you & go with it!
