  • I feel like that would be extremely unsafe..

  • I think it's interesting because Volvo is the leader in safety in cars so there must be something there that they've thought of that we're not..I just wish it said.

  • I think it's an interesting concept. It looks to me like the carseat is attached to the car. The worry here would be airbags but I would hope they would have some way of disabling them while this feature was in use.

  • Can't you just sit in the back seat with the baby? That's what we did and still do sometimes

  • Yea I don't know about that. It's definitely different but what do you do when LO is ready to front face? You still need a car seat but not an infant seat so does Volvo plan on having interchangeable seats? Seems like maybe this is just a concept presentation and nothing concrete. There are a lot "What about this...?" questions in my mind.

  • I think as a concept it's interesting. Of course for it to fly it would have to pass various safety inspections and be determined to be just as safe as rear seats.

My thought, assuming the safety issues would be handled, is can I put my passenger seat back in safely when I'm ready? Because who wants a car that always has a car seat in place of the front passenger? Eventually my kids'll grow up.

This is my thought too. What do you do when the car seat is no longer needed?

Sounds like the passenger seat is removable and could be put back in once the car seat is no longer needed? Strange, though. And what about when you want to ride with another adult in the front seat?  You have to dismantle this car seat and put the passenger seat back in? What about when you want to use your car seat in a different car? Do you need a separate car seat for a different car or does this one buckle in normally? So many questions! But I suppose it's sort of an interesting idea?

I don't even sit in the back anymore when my babies are little. I think it is neat in theory but you could also just sit in the back of needed.

Edit: my phone or this app hate me.

  • Maybe it's a European thing?  The car seat that the baby is in is European and I can see it going over a lot better there than here.  I'll stick with my minivan ;-)
