Keep getting sick

Im little over 8 weeks now and for the past month I keep getting sick! Sometimes I'm so achy all over with a sore throat or I'll catch a cold and sometimes it feels like mild flu symptoms just feeling weak. I'm worried that it's hurting baby and I don't know what else to do to make my immune system better. I'm taking prenatal vitamins everyday that include everything. I've had the flu shot last week too and felt fine after that. Any advice? What do you take? Just don't know if I'm overreacting

    I would talk to your OB on what medications that they recommend being able to take while pregnant. When I had gotten a sinus infection and a few colds during my last pregnancy I just really tried to wait it out. I drank extra OJ and lots of water. I also make homemade chicken soup for myself. Otherwise, just getting plenty of rest to let your body re-cooperate from whatever you have might be the best move. Keep in mind that if you have mild flu symptoms, it may not be the flu at all---could just be from the pregnancy. Once your hormones get into place closer to the second tri, that will hopefully help you too.

    Pregnancy can mimic a lot of cold/flu symptoms, but also makes us more susceptible to illness - so personally I had trouble figuring out if my congestion (4-6 wks pg) was pregnancy, cold or allergies... still not entirely sure...

    OJ and other vitamin-rich foods, warm showers/hot beverages helped and lots of rest.  My OB gave me a list of "pregnancy-approved" OTC meds categorized (allergies, cold, headache, pain, etc.) that I can now reference.  For me - moving around/light exercise also helped (even non-pregnant, I always feel better after swimming).
