Not Having a Baby Shower

My husband and I are considering skipping a baby shower. But we're getting some pushback from family about our unconventional decision. I wanted to know if any of you ladies decided against having a baby shower and how you dealt with family responses. Advice would be much appreciated!

    Yes no baby shower here! This is our first bio baby, we have one adopted daughter. We just told them no and not to ask. We said we don't need a shower but we'd register online. I hate showers!

    I've seen some threads a while back that got some great answers to this or very similar questions. The traditional shower doesn't work for everyone. I had a sip and see with my first and likely won't have anything this time. It should be close enough to Christmas that that gather will cover the same that the sip and see would.

    No bb shower here neither. I prefer to have a welcome home bb (small gathering for 1-3 hr only). This is a personal decision since i had a bad experience. Family did a huge bb shower at 35w and a week later found out bb had health issues and past away a month after birth. Imagine all that bb stuff in his room set up already. It was very difficult for me and had to leave town for few days untill family took everything out.

    No baby shower for me either, I'm going to have a little welcome to the world gathering once he's here :)
