I've had nausea for weeks now. The medication prescribed to me ($700) wasn't covered by my insurance so I have to try something else. I'm going to try vitamin B6. Wondering if anyone one has tried it or if you have other recommendations.
There's nausea lollipops on Amazon. Today was my first day really feeling bad and I just ate a regular lollipop and it worked! Also try mints and ginger ale - they've helped me a bit.
I had constant nausea and vomiting at least once a day for the first 4 weeks. Finally called my dr and started taking half a unisom and a b6 right before bed and it's been amazing!!! I still feel nauseous if I don't eat every few hours but no where near how bad I felt before. Also haven't thrown up since I started taking it! I would call your dr and ask about it!
Thank you! I love pickle juice, even before I was pregnant, so I'll try that and everything else. I actually just woke up after trying the unisom and b6 and I think it worked! It's the the first time I've felt normal in a long time
Ginger is supposed to help. My doctor said to try ginger ale but that didn't work for me. I did get some decaf lemon-ginger tea. The warmth and the ginger help get rid of my nausea for a while. If I eat and then feel nauseous, I can chew gum or have a mint and that helps some. I drink tons of water and try to eat every 2-3 hours, even if it is only a few bites of something. I've noticed certain things make me more nauseous than others and I tend to get sick first thing in the morning and about 7-9 at night. Try to east something before you get out of bed. My boyfriend brings me food in the morning or I keep some by the bed like crackers. My mom swore by pretzels and sprite. The prenatal vitamins you take can make a difference too. I took mine in the morning. There was 2 separate pills and one was for the dha. It's a lot like fish oil and it made me sick. I started taking a different kind and I take them after dinner or before bed. It helps a lot.
The only thing that has helped me so far is to continuously suck on peppermint altoids basically all day long. I did order some preggy pops from Amazon and am hoping those will help when they arrive.
Crackers worked for me in my last two pregnancies (6&7yr old boys) but this time around nausea has been relentless. Just had a pickle and it really helped! Lemon ginger tea sounds good too.
Saltines in the morning as soon as I get up. Then I try to eat some dry cereal. Usually by mid afternoon I can eat a real meal. I did buy preggie pops but when I really need them, I feel like they would make me more sick so I haven't had one yet. I also found that shaved ice/snow cones have made me feel better. Maybe try munching on some ice cubes? I thought about eating pickles, but I feel like that would not help me much. My nausea also seems to be linked to motion, so I am going to try seabands.
Yesterday I tried ginger ale and that helped a LOT. Saltine's really helped the day before that. I was prescribed some anti-nausea meds yesterday because it was starting to get out of control and I only took half of one of those pills and it really helped but also made me super sleepy (which I'm not complaining because I actually slept through the night last night).
Lemonade and sucking on hard sour candy has helped me as well.
If you're getting ginger ale, make sure it actually has ginger in it. A lot of popular ginger ale brands don't actually have *any* ginger in them or if they do, just enough to add flavor. Seagram's and Vernor's both make ginger ale that has real ginger in it and it should be listed as an ingredient.
I've been feeling seedy the past week and I just tried pineapple juice mixed half and half with water cause I find it too strong by itself...my stomach instantly settled! I've had 2 glasses today each time I felt a little I'll and it worked a charm
