Told my boss today

I'm a teacher, so I'm off until August. I had to meet with my principal today about something unrelated and decided just to tell her. I've been dreading it! There are 3 other pregnant teachers and from what I've heard she really frowns on people taking more than 6 weeks off (I'm taking 12). She couldn't have been nicer! Was so understanding and totally supported me taking more time (even with me being out during all of state testing). Such a relief!

    Oh thats good! I bet it feels like a weight lifted off your shoulders. I told the Dr I work for today too!

    Good for you! I'm a teacher also but I'm avoiding my principal and supervisor until August - I'll be past 12 weeks by then so I will probably tell them right at the beginning of the year. Last time, I started my mat leave in April which wasn't too bad for them. I'm a little worried about telling them this due date is early feb... And I probably won't plan on coming back until the following year. I hope that's even possible

    Glad it went well and that your boss is eager to give you ample time off and work with you on this. Wish all bosses could be like that!
